During that time, I was also deeply contemplating my career path. It was a crucial time for me, and I worked tirelessly, pondering how to harmoniously achieve my life goals and career. My father once left a stable company to join one focused on environmental issues. His determination to align his life’s purpose with his livelihood deeply influenced me. Following his example, I too strove to find and settle into a career where I could realize my ideals.
From a young age, I developed a strong interest in renewable energy as a crucial element in solving environmental problems. This was a natural progression. This solidified my resolve to contribute to the creation and development of energy that could change the world for the better.
My parents have always actively supported my career choices and cheered me on no matter which path I chose. Thanks to their encouragement, I could move forward with confidence in my path. I possess a personality that refuses to give up when faced with the world’s immense problems, persistently seeking out what I can do and working diligently. I often feel frustrated by the thought that the world is so vast and human capabilities seem insignificant in comparison. Though I frequently question, “Can I truly change this world?”, we must remember that throughout history, many civilizations and achievements were built through human cooperation. Even if individual capabilities seem insufficient, the synergy created when these forces unite can unleash tremendous power.
The passion of many people moving together toward a single goal can sometimes generate energy powerful enough to shift the course of the world or even history. Such change is never the result of luck or miracles. I want to live with the pioneering spirit of someone who strives tirelessly to leave an even better foundation for future generations. Sometimes we lose our resolve for environmental conservation, thinking, ‘No matter what effort we make now, we can’t restore things to how they were.’ But if we become complacent, trapped in that mindset, we may face an environment far worse than today’s. Moreover, the responsibility will be shifted onto our descendants. For them, it could become a heavy and immense burden arriving too late.
We often assume that the responsibilities we choose and their consequences are ours alone to bear. But this is not the case. We must feel a greater sense of responsibility, knowing that our choices and actions may ultimately be shouldered by future generations. They too must live in the environment we leave behind, meaning the weight will inevitably be passed on to them. Therefore, we must be vigilant against choosing present indulgence while ignoring or evading its consequences. Fleeing from the results of one’s actions by simply dying is a cowardly attitude.
