Growth Process

“Put your heart into even the smallest tasks!”
Our family motto is “Put your heart into even the smallest tasks.”
Literally meaning to give your whole heart and do your best even in minor matters, it also implies being content with the outcome regardless of its scale. This isn’t just a phrase in a framed picture on the wall; it has become our family’s attitude toward life and a guiding principle.
I have always kept this motto close to my heart, striving to give my utmost effort to any task. I consistently poured my dedication into achieving results I wouldn’t regret, and thanks to this, I was consistently recognized as diligent, both in my school life and during part-time jobs.
My father once worked as an engineer at an industrial company. However, one day, he suffered a severe injury during work when his left ring finger was severed in an accident. He had to take time off work for treatment, but he did not let this hardship defeat him.
My father’s long-held goal was to establish his own industrial company, even if it was small, bearing his name. Even after injuring his finger, he said, “I still have nine fingers intact—what’s the problem?” He never gave up on that dream, despite the discomfort. Instead, he rose above the accident and prepared for the future with even stronger resolve.
And finally, four years after the accident, he founded his own industrial company. Today, he remains its CEO. Watching my father like this, I learned that unexpected obstacles encountered in life can actually become stepping stones for growth.
Fingers may be the most important tools for an engineer. But my father focused on the possibilities that remained rather than his limitations, and that attitude resonated deeply in my life.
A person with a clear goal does not easily crumble before any difficulty. Through my father’s life, I learned that even if the pace is slow, putting sincere effort into each step will ultimately lead you to your desired destination.
Like my father, I too aspire to be someone who approaches any task with dedication and moves forward unwaveringly. Believing in the value of sincerity in even the smallest matters, I will advance steadily, one step at a time.

Personality and Strengths

“Responsibility, Perseverance, and Adaptability!”
I have a warm and approachable personality that allows me to get along well with others. When working towards a common goal, differing opinions are inevitable, but I have often taken on the role of listening to others’ perspectives, mediating, and guiding the group towards a mutually acceptable solution. When conflicts arise, I approach them rationally rather than emotionally, identifying the root cause and resolving issues through dialogue with team members. When progress stalls, I proactively suggest directions and lead the team, but I always prioritize consensus and collaboration over unilateral decisions, acting as a ‘mediator’.
I possess firm convictions and believe in the work I undertake. However, before taking action, I tend to deliberate and analyze thoroughly before making careful decisions. I approach tasks with a sense of responsibility based on rational judgment and commit to seeing assigned work through to completion.
My particular strengths are ‘sense of responsibility’, ‘perseverance’, and ‘concentration’. From a young age, observing my father taught me to give my best effort even to minor tasks and to see through anything I started. This attitude naturally manifests in my daily life and work. For instance, during a collaborative research project, when unexpected failures repeated, progress stalled under tight deadlines, and conflicts among team members intensified, I refused to give up easily. Despite multiple setbacks, I persistently tried to fulfill my responsibilities, rising from each failure to solve problems one by one. By pushing forward without giving up until the end, we ultimately succeeded in completing the joint research project.
Through this experience, I cultivated the ability to harmonize with colleagues, the drive to make decisions and lead, and the tenacity to persevere through difficulties. Moving forward, I will leverage these strengths to approach any environment with a sense of responsibility, giving my best effort and collaborating to achieve better outcomes.

Life Motto

“Keep challenging yourself until you can’t fail anymore!”
I do not fear challenges or failure. To challenge oneself means having goals in life and possessing the courage to actually move toward those goals. I believe that learning through challenges and growing through failure is what life is all about.
If you collapse in the moment of failure, thinking, “Ah, I’m just not cut out for this,” then you truly become someone who isn’t cut out for it. What matters is what you learn from that failure. Why did it fail? Where in the process was the error? What variables did I overlook? Reflecting on and analyzing each point—this is the preparation for the next challenge, and ultimately, the only path toward success.
Through my short but passionately lived life, I have clearly realized this truth. Failure is not the end; it is the beginning. Do not be afraid; challenge yourself to the very end. At some point, that challenge will take you where you want to be.

Research Content

“Flexible Display Research!”
Flexible displays are not merely about achieving bendable or foldable functionality. This technology is demanded not only for creating new forms of devices but also for evolving various aspects of the display itself—such as thickness, manufacturing costs, and durability.
Indeed, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA, a display was showcased that played videos while fluttering within a thin plastic film. However, the flexible display products currently being released by companies have not yet reached the level consumers expect. The ability to freely fold or bend them still faces significant limitations at the commercialization stage.
The reason is that, as of now, there is no clearly established material that can completely replace glass. To create flexible displays, plastic must first be used instead of glass. This allows for the realization of displays that can bend freely without breaking. However, plastic has the disadvantage of inferior shielding properties compared to glass. Since it allows some air and moisture to pass through, an inorganic coating layer must be applied over the plastic film to enhance its barrier function and compensate for this.
Additionally, while plastic offers advantages like high impact resistance and ease of forming, materials developed to date lack the hardness of glass. Lowering the price to glass levels is also challenging, posing a hurdle to commercialization. Of course, when OLED devices are placed on plastic and processed at high temperatures, they can sometimes exhibit greater heat resistance than glass.
However, plastic alone is insufficient for flexible displays to evolve to the ‘foldable’ stage. Since immense stress acts on the folding area, various alternative materials are being researched. For instance, silicon processed extremely thin can stretch sufficiently, making it a strong candidate material for foldable displays.
I believe a future will come where flexible displays become as thin and affordable as paper, widely utilized across diverse fields. Until that day arrives, I wish to dedicate my capabilities and passion to finding the right materials and developing the technology to achieve the necessary strength and price competitiveness.
Furthermore, it is not sufficient for only the display itself to be flexible. The substrate and other components that make up the display must also possess flexibility to enable practical bending or folding. Therefore, the related technologies must also continuously advance and mature.
Flexible displays hold innovative potential that goes beyond simple technology, capable of fundamentally changing the form and usage of the electronic devices we use. I aspire to be part of the technology creating a better future at the heart of this exciting transformation.

Motivation for Application and Aspirations

“I will grow into a researcher equipped with analytical skills and creativity!”
I believe SKC Haas possesses outstanding competitiveness in the global market based on its excellent quality and proactive customer responsiveness, and remains a company with limitless growth potential. Specifically, SKC Haas, a leader in the display materials industry, is positioned as a key entity pioneering its future. My desire to grow alongside such a company motivated my application.
For researchers, the ability to conduct experiments is essential, as is the analytical skill to accurately interpret results and derive meaning. I have cultivated the ability to learn various analytical instruments and utilize them appropriately according to the situation, enabling me to effectively derive the necessary research results.
Furthermore, I believe that identifying trends through literature reviews of existing papers and patents is crucial for enhancing the completeness of research. I consistently read papers and patents, systematically organizing the materials I read by field and topic. This allows for quick reference when needed, significantly boosting research efficiency.
My research notebooks, meticulously maintained since university, are another vital asset. I carefully document everything from pre-experiment plans to progress at each stage, including causes and outcomes of any errors, thereby enhancing experimental accuracy. This habit provides invaluable reference material whenever I begin new research.
I do not view research merely as a job. I genuinely enjoy the research process itself and always approach new challenges with a proactive attitude. Should I become a member of your company, I will be a researcher who approaches tasks with a creative perspective, creating tangible results through thorough planning and clear objectives.
Based on diligence and perseverance, I will establish myself as a talent who makes a substantial contribution to the company’s growth.
