In this blog post, I’ll share how to effectively highlight your basic work skills in an administrative assistant resume, based on my experience maintaining diligence and meticulousness even during repetitive tasks.
My Growth Process
As a child, whenever my mother left the house, I would inevitably dash to her vanity table and gaze longingly at the various items. The sparkling bottles and colorful cosmetics, the magic of transformation they held for my mother, felt like a mysterious world to my young self. Of course, I dared not touch them, knowing I’d get a stern scolding from my mother if I carelessly opened a lid or played with the contents. Yet, just looking at them filled me with the thrill of feeling like an adult. I’d often get lost in happiness, imagining a future where I’d have my own vanity and transform beautifully like my mother.
Mother was beautiful even in everyday life, but when she sat before her vanity, calmly gazing into the mirror as she carefully took out each product and applied them to her face with devotion, she seemed to transform into an even more dazzling, fairy-like being. On days when I went out with such a mother, I felt puffed up with pride, as if I had suddenly become the daughter of a fairy, and my heart swelled with excitement the entire walk. Back then, I was filled with excitement, thinking, ‘I want to be like that soon too,’ and I often felt impatient to imitate her. But Mother held a firm principle: “Starting makeup too young can damage your skin.” So she only allowed me to use gentle skin toners or lotions, simple creams, or lip balm. She would tell me to wait until I was old enough for a ‘real transformation’.
I yearned every day to have eyes as defined as hers, moist lashes, and glowing skin, but she remained steadfast. To my young eyes, it sometimes felt like she was hoarding the ‘secret to transformation’ all to herself, and I resented her for it. But looking back now, I realize my delicate skin grew healthy and unblemished entirely thanks to my mother’s careful consideration. Had she not patiently reassured me during those years when I was full of curiosity about makeup, I might have used my face as a testing ground for all sorts of reckless experiments.
My mother left me with an important lesson: beauty isn’t just about adorning the exterior; it begins with cherishing and caring for oneself. That mindset became the foundation of who I am today. For me, makeup transcended mere adornment; it became an expression of self-esteem and love. Thus, that small admiration that began before my mother’s vanity table is now blossoming steadily within my own life.
School Days
As I entered my formative years, I recall my mother personally stepping in to pass down her ‘secrets’ to me. She did this so I wouldn’t have to endure unnecessary detours while learning through trial and error like other kids my age. Of course, I wasn’t quite at the age for full makeup yet, so my mother focused on teaching me basic skincare, cleansing habits, and ways to naturally reveal my own charm without artificially adding anything. Each time I learned something new, I felt a flutter of excitement, as if I were getting closer to a ‘transformation.’ That period was truly special for me.
Among my friends, there was one who already dressed up glamorously like an adult, enjoyed heavy makeup, and seemed to exist in a different world from other kids her age. But I firmly believed my mother’s advice that hasty attempts could actually be harmful to my skin, and I tried hard not to be greedy. My mother never dismissed the common saying, “You’re at an age where you don’t need makeup to be beautiful,” as mere platitude. She always explained the specific reasons and background behind it. It wasn’t just a vague statement like “because you’re pretty.” She patiently taught me why the vitality and purity of skin at that age are precious, and how to best highlight those strengths.
Her words carried even more weight because she was someone who was always deeply interested in keywords like anti-aging and wrinkle care. She said that as humans, we inevitably show our age physically over time. Therefore, during that period when there aren’t yet many visible signs of time passing on the face or body, that ‘clear and pure beauty’ alone can be dazzling enough. I think it was then that I first realized that the greatest privilege of that age is creating a naturally radiant appearance through just a little care and maintenance.
At first, adults’ comments like “What’s a kid doing with makeup?” felt like nothing more than old-fashioned attempts to control us. But after listening to my mother’s gentle, patient explanations, I gradually began to understand the weight behind those words. I also gained the confidence that by not wearing makeup, I could actually let my true, natural self shine brighter. In that sense, when I look back on my school days, I want to remember them as a time when I learned not “how to dress up stylishly,” but “how to protect myself.” And because my mother’s advice was always there at the beginning, I feel even more grateful.
Personality Introduction
Rather than blindly following others’ beauty or charm, I am the type who seeks to express a harmonious charm by embracing my own unique characteristics. When I first became seriously interested in appearance, I too often envied celebrities and models, complaining, “Why wasn’t I born with a face like that?” However, as time passed, I came to realize that, like the saying “A sparrow trying to follow a stork will only tear its legs,” there are innate differences that cannot be overcome. Accepting this truth finally allowed me to settle into reality and regain peace of mind.
After that, I came to think that even if I might lack the external qualities of those called beauties, I wanted to pursue beauty in my own way. To do that, I realized that above all else, I needed to truly know myself first. The first step was to objectively examine the characteristics of my face, body type, aura, skin tone, expressions, and how my unique charm could be revealed.
Just as you cannot create a beautiful painting by blindly copying someone else’s paints or brushes without first understanding the canvas’s base color or texture, true beauty cannot be achieved through mere imitation. Beauty isn’t something you create simply by imitating others; it only truly emerges when you understand your own foundation and express it harmoniously in a way that suits you.
This realization became an opportunity for me, who had always thought ‘I’m lacking compared to others,’ to view myself with a more objective perspective. Now, rather than envying others, I aim to enjoy the process of exploring what beauty suits me and carefully refining that charm. Not by comparing myself to others, but by creating a painting completed in my own unique colors.
Values
As the saying goes, “Know yourself and your enemy, and you will win every battle.” We often believe that the more information we gather about our adversary, the greater our chances of victory. But what truly matters is fully understanding your own situation, capabilities, and tactical strengths before analyzing your opponent. If you blindly devise and execute strategies without truly knowing yourself, you risk missing realistic judgments and inevitably increasing the likelihood of failure.
We often believe we know ourselves better than anyone and charge headlong into the world. Yet, when we look at ourselves objectively, we often discover surprising flaws and limitations. This is because unfounded confidence, unconscious arrogance, and the compulsion to avoid falling behind others combine to form a distorted self-image. Such distortions cloud our thinking and judgment, ultimately influencing our actions and choices.
Therefore, before facing the world, we need to train ourselves to first pay deep attention to ourselves and examine ourselves based on objective standards. It is crucial to adopt an attitude of correcting our distorted perspective through regular reflection and review. For a person to move in the right direction, it is sometimes necessary to pause, look back at the path we’ve walked, and check our trajectory. Understanding ourselves properly—that is the starting point that drives change and growth.
Career History
I began my career at a ○○ Cosmetics retail store, gaining a year of experience in basic sales duties and customer service. After transferring to a ○○ Roadshop retail location, I systematically strengthened my practical field skills. Over approximately two years, I broadly developed my understanding of diverse products, customer service skills, and a keen sense for store operations. Building on this experience, I subsequently moved to an office within the same group company, taking on administrative support duties. There, I gained experience across the full spectrum of office operations, including internal administrative processing, document organization, and basic data management. This journey, spanning from frontline operations to office support, allowed me to develop not only a comprehensive understanding of the cosmetics industry but also a strong sense of responsibility and flexible problem-solving skills.
Reasons for Applying and Future Aspirations
Growing up watching my mother achieve amazing transformations through makeup, I became convinced that the countless cosmetics filling her vanity were magical tools capable of transforming any woman into the most beautiful version of herself. Watching her, I eagerly counted down the days until I too could experience the magic of cosmetics. As I grew older and could try it myself, my curiosity deepened into a serious interest and affection. Cosmetics naturally became both my hobby and a part of my daily life, and furthermore, they significantly influenced the direction of my career and life. This affection and passion for cosmetics steadily deepened alongside my growth, and now, driven by the desire to work somewhere where I can transform that passion into tangible value, I am applying to your company.
If given the opportunity to contribute at your company, I would like to lead the effort to share the amazing transformative power of cosmetics and the excitement they hold with the world, recalling the heart-fluttering feelings I had as a child watching my mother’s cosmetics. Through authentic communication that conveys not only the excellence of the products themselves but also the emotional value that positively changes people’s daily lives, I will help strengthen the connection between consumers and the brand. While I may not yet possess the perfect magic skills like my mother, I firmly believe your products, which contribute to making women more beautiful, hold immense potential and power. Therefore, I aim to work with your outstanding brand to strategically and proactively spread its value, aligning with market trends to build an aggressive vision and future together.
My affection for cosmetics has expanded beyond that of a simple consumer; it has grown into a sincere desire to foster my own growth within this field and to grow alongside the brand. Now, building on that long-standing passion and experience, I aim to take another step forward to become a true magician who gifts excitement and change to people’s lives. If that journey begins with your company, I am certain it will be all the more meaningful and valuable.
