How can I convey that I’m the right fit for an insurance company?

In this blog post, I’ll show you how to naturally and persuasively express in your cover letter that you’re the ideal candidate for an insurance company.

My Background

Growing up, I learned early on that life’s crises aren’t just someone else’s story. Due to my father’s business failure, we frequently moved and lived an unstable life. Each time, I carried a vague sense of anxiety, wondering, “Why do only we have to live this hard?” I couldn’t express these feelings outwardly. Instead, I had to swallow them down, comforting and reassuring my younger sister. That responsibility felt overwhelmingly heavy to me. Because if I broke down, my sister would have nowhere to turn. Back then, if she hadn’t been there, my own heart might have easily gone astray. But thanks to her presence, I could hold onto those feelings, endure, and grow. Above all, I felt responsible for ensuring she didn’t break down, didn’t lose her balance. That sense of duty kept me from straying too far off course and helped me get through the tough times.
Furthermore, I became acutely aware that I needed to be a new source of hope for my parents. I realized that if I gave up and lived recklessly just because my parents couldn’t provide me with a peaceful environment, it would only hurt them more. So, I resolved never to lose hope, no matter the circumstances, and not to shift the full responsibility for my life onto my parents. I vowed to do my utmost within my capabilities and strive to follow the right path in life. As a result, I devoted myself to my studies and achieved excellent grades. Not only that, but I also took charge of helping my younger sister with her studies. Through my efforts to ensure she didn’t fall behind other children, she too was able to achieve good results. Even in desperate circumstances, I never lost hope and did my utmost to fulfill my role. Through this effort, both my sister and I secured a foothold for our futures.
Through all these experiences, I learned how to live without losing hope even in crisis. Despite our parents’ business failure and unstable environment, my sister and I grew up relying on each other, and that experience shaped who I am today. Even during difficult times, we joined forces to move toward the future, and the valuable lessons gained along the way became our most important asset.

School Life

During my school years, I was often compared to friends from different family backgrounds. It was a time when I was conscious of that reality but still tried my hardest without giving in. Occasionally, when the weight of my responsibilities felt overwhelming, I would look at my friends and feel regret, wondering, ‘Why wasn’t I born into a more ordinary family?’ However, I knew that lamenting wouldn’t solve anything, so I resolved not to just complain. If complaining alone could fix everything, our family’s debts would have been paid off long ago, and my younger sibling and I would be living better lives. But even when my parents stayed up all night sighing and discussing the future, the reality waiting for us when we opened our eyes the next morning remained unchanged. Each time, I realized I had to shoulder the weight of daily life once more and move forward silently.
Whenever the regrets of my life surfaced, I resolved to use them as the very fuel I needed to push forward. Rather than sinking into regret and sighing, I strengthened my resolve to transform it into strength, moving faster and more steadily. Whenever a sigh escaped me while reflecting on reality, I worried I might get trapped in its shadow. But each time, I tried to take even a small step faster and farther. Of course, my sense of inadequacy hadn’t completely vanished, so I was occasionally swayed by it. Yet, at least I could hold my head high, facing forward, and move ahead with firm resolve. Even when I hit the limits of reality, I tried to overcome them with the will to carve out my own future.
This is how I fought reality day after day, advancing step by step. Though my family’s difficulties remained, they didn’t defeat me. Instead, they became an opportunity to give me greater will and strength, allowing me to establish the direction of my life more firmly. Amidst the daily grind, what I could do was overcome that reality. Enduring each day like this, I walk ever more diligently toward my dream.

Personality Introduction

I am someone who values future hope more than the limitations of reality, and I thoroughly prepare for it. While people inevitably are influenced by their innate circumstances, I do not believe those circumstances are an absolute force that determines the future. Life is governed by unpredictable variables. Unless we establish the agency to forge our own path, we risk being swept away by our circumstances, unable to confront life’s misfortunes and simply collapsing. That’s why I believe we must never settle for complacency, thinking ‘this is good enough,’ no matter the situation. We must always remain alert to the possibility that a new turning point could arrive at any moment. Preparation and effort for that possibility are ultimately the crucial factors that determine whether our lives will be guided by favorable circumstances or by adversity. That’s why I tend to hold myself strictly accountable today. Though I’ve often heard the advice to “live a little more loosely,” I nevertheless believe that only by tightening the reins on each day can I secure greater leeway in the future, and I consistently strive to keep myself meticulously in check. I believe that preparation for the future and consistent effort can ultimately create the life we desire, and I practice this belief in my daily routine.

Outlook on Life

The spirit of challenge that has persisted since childhood has been a vital driving force in my life. Growing up, I faced many misfortunes and sometimes felt the urge to give up on life. I was often consumed by despair, feeling that no matter how diligently I tried, the world offered me no reward. During those times, I had my younger sister. She was the one who balanced my life, helping me keep my center of gravity steady, but she couldn’t understand the despair deep within my heart. Back then, my life felt like one lived ‘because I couldn’t afford to give up, even if it meant living crooked.’
But as time passed, I began to change little by little. I started to resent the misfortune that had befallen my life and pondered what I needed to prepare and what efforts I should make to fight against that misfortune. I was no longer fate’s punching bag. I was no longer ‘a being that only endlessly took blows’; now, I was a being who had put on boxing gloves and stepped into the ring as an equal. To seize the opportunities given to me and avoid defeat again, I constantly sought the moment to land an ambitious knockout punch.
This spirit of challenge taught me much, and through it, I grew steadily stronger. Looking back on past despair and frustration, I realize all those experiences became the foundation for who I am today. Ultimately, I came to understand that what truly matters in life isn’t how much pain you endure, but how you accept that pain and how you overcome it. Now, I no longer crumble under misfortune. Instead, I embrace every moment as a challenge and forge my own path within it.
Through this writing, I wish to share my experience. Life constantly presents unpredictable challenges. Each time, we must choose how to handle ourselves and what attitude to adopt in facing those challenges. What matters is not failure itself, but the confidence and courage to overcome it. I will not lose that courage. No matter the situation, I will hold onto my life and keep challenging myself to the very end.

Reasons for Applying and Aspirations After Joining

Growing up, I faced many hardships and challenges. Rather than asking, “Why must I live a different life than my friends?”, I chose to turn those crises into opportunities, using them as stepping stones to turn my life around. Just as heroes emerge more often in turbulent times than in peaceful ones, I learned to constantly push myself and strive for a better tomorrow through those difficult years. These experiences instilled in me a higher standard than others and cultivated the diligence to constantly hold myself accountable to meet that standard. I believe this effort aligns perfectly with your company’s pursuit of “best effort,” which is why I am applying.
Should I join your company, my past adversities will enable me to deeply empathize with customers’ perspectives and sincerely understand their anxieties and concerns. This insight will allow me to present the most suitable products and fulfill my role as a salesperson to the best of my ability. Furthermore, I have always lived by the conviction that no omnipotent force can ultimately defeat a person. Rather, I have overcome past adversities with the belief that with sufficient preparation and a well-thought-out strategy, one can always seize an opportunity to counterattack.
I am confident that this experience and determination will greatly benefit the role I would undertake at your company. Based on relentless effort and passion, I am certain I can contribute to your company’s goals and vision. With this mindset, I wish to grow together as a member of your company.
