Growth Background

“Learning through experience.”
Growing up, guided by my parents’ educational philosophy that “learning through direct experience leaves the deepest impression,” I was able to develop through diverse experiences. Weekends meant day trips or overnight stays to nearby destinations with my family, while vacations offered opportunities to travel abroad and encounter a broader world. These experiences weren’t mere outings or entertainment; they were filled with time to broaden my perspective on the world, ask questions, and learn. The things I saw, heard, and experienced in my childhood remain vividly in my memory even now. Thanks to this, I came to believe that ‘learning through experience’ is the most effective educational method.
Furthermore, influenced by my uncle who participates in marathon races two or three times a year, I naturally grew close to sports. In my childhood, I played badminton with my brother and uncle, and gradually came to enjoy cycling and running. Starting around upper elementary school, I even participated in 10km marathons, completing them twice. My first attempt was a mix of excitement and fear, but finishing gave me a sense of accomplishment and boosted my confidence. Now, I enjoy running so much that I can confidently say it’s my hobby without hesitation. Running has become such an integral part of my life that even when traveling, starting my day with an hour-long morning run feels completely natural.
Entering university marked the beginning of dormitory life. While the experience of living away from my parents for the first time was exciting, and the freedom enjoyable, I missed my family and would go home once a month. Living in the dorm for all four years proved difficult, so starting my junior year, I began living on my own, taking on a new challenge to build independence. While I enjoyed spending time with friends, I strictly managed my own space to keep my life organized and maintained it as a personal sanctuary. Unlike dorm life, living on my own required handling all daily tasks, big and small, independently. Through this process, I naturally developed a sense of responsibility and self-reliance.
Looking back, my growth journey was essentially a life of “learning through personal experience and trial and error.” The diverse experiences, activities, and lessons learned amidst change have shaped who I am today. Moving forward, I will continue to learn and grow based on this attitude.

Strengths and Weaknesses of My Personality

“Describing Myself: Sensible and Meticulous”
I possess a strong sense of responsibility and excel at handling situations. My parents’ teaching from childhood—that “true freedom isn’t doing whatever you want, but having the willpower to refrain from doing things you desire”—has become a crucial guiding principle in my life. Therefore, even during my school years, I strove to protect my freedom by acting appropriately and taking responsibility for my actions. Thanks to this disposition, I remain calm and make sound judgments even in unexpected situations, often receiving praise for my resourcefulness.
I enjoy communicating with people and willingly step forward to help those in more difficult circumstances than myself. This stems from the virtues of ‘consideration’ and ‘courtesy’ that my mother always emphasized. From a young age, I naturally developed the habit of observing others’ feelings and considering their perspectives. At school, I often took on the role of a helper, approaching lonely classmates first to talk and listening to my friends’ worries. Because I value time spent interacting and communicating with people, I have consistently participated in various activities both inside and outside of school. Through these experiences, I was able to socialize with people from diverse backgrounds, developing my ability to understand others and my empathy.
I am also quick to pick up on things and meticulous. When working, I often anticipate and act on what others want before they even express it verbally. I believe this is only possible with genuine interest in others and careful observation. My ability to sensitively read others’ emotions and ensure nothing important is overlooked has earned me the trust of those I work with. I find greater fulfillment in hearing that I make people feel comfortable working alongside me than in being praised simply for handling tasks well.
Thus, I believe the phrase ‘a person with good sense and meticulousness’ is one of the best descriptions of me. Moving forward, I aspire to remain a dependable presence in any role, grounded in my concern for others and sense of responsibility. I hope to leverage my unique strengths to harmoniously integrate with those around me and grow together.

School Life

“Running hard while learning independence”
At university, I majored in Economics, studying various finance-related subjects including Finance, Investment Theory, Statistics, and Asset Management. Beyond theoretical knowledge, I developed a deep interest in and explored fields closely tied to the actual financial markets, such as securities, bonds, and derivatives. Through courses like Small and Medium Enterprise Theory and Industry Studies, I learned about the importance of understanding future business strategies, market trends, and customer needs. I consistently pursued advanced learning by forming study groups with like-minded friends in my department. I frequently read economics and business books, as well as newspapers and current affairs materials. Through discussions with others, I broadened my perspective and developed my capabilities.
Starting university marked my first step toward independence. Not wanting to burden my parents with tuition and living expenses, I balanced my studies with part-time work throughout all four years, striving to cover my own living costs as much as possible. While my parents wished for me to focus solely on my studies, I wanted to take responsibility for my own life. So, even though it was a bit tough, I consistently continued my part-time work, focusing primarily on tutoring as it offered the most effective use of my time. To improve each student’s grades, I developed personalized learning strategies and guided them, approaching every student with genuine care. This allowed me to build trust with them, leading to a steady stream of tutoring requests that provided stable income throughout my four years.
The most memorable part of my college life was starting each day by running on the school track. During my early days in the dormitory, it became routine to wake up early, run around the field for about an hour, shower, and then enter the lecture hall feeling refreshed. Even after moving to a private apartment near campus in my third year, I maintained this habit. Having a nearby space to run provided me with a reliable and pleasant environment, serving as a driving force to maintain both mental and physical health amidst a busy schedule.
Additionally, during my third year, I served as the department representative, facilitating smooth communication between professors and fellow students. I planned major department events, encouraged friends to participate, and ensured all necessary information was shared without omission, leading to systematic administrative operations. This earned me the trust of my peers and recognition from professors for my responsible and diligent attitude.
Looking back, my university life can be summarized by the keywords ‘independence’ and ‘growth’. Through diverse activities like part-time work, academics, sports, and interpersonal relationships, I disciplined myself. Step by step, like my daily morning runs, I forged ahead and established my life’s direction. These experiences shaped who I am today and will remain a solid foundation for steadfastly walking my path forward.
