What kind of cover letter do insurance company HR teams prefer?

This blog post details the characteristics of cover letters favored by insurance company HR teams and key points to consider when writing one.

My Growth Journey

As a child, I was deeply engrossed in games like Tetris or building blocks. The process of stacking small, detailed pieces like puzzle pieces one by one to finally complete a large form struck me as incredibly cool and fascinating, even at a young age. So, I remember being so focused on puzzles or block toys that were much more complex and had far more pieces than those for children my age that I would persist without giving up, sometimes even forgetting to eat. Back then, I think I found greater satisfaction in the slow process of carefully fitting each small piece into place to complete the whole, rather than in achieving results quickly. Thanks to that, my parents often praised my concentration and perseverance, and those memories remain vivid within me to this day.
Through that experience, I realized an important truth early on. No matter how grand or magnificent the final result, it is ultimately composed of very small individual pieces. Only by stacking them patiently, step by step, in the correct order, can a complete form be achieved. This realization profoundly influenced my entire life thereafter. It’s thanks to this that I’ve been able to maintain a mindset of steady, long-term immersion when studying or focusing on new work, without getting impatient for short-term results.
Of course, I was still young back then, so it was hard to clearly imagine myself in the future as a wonderful adult like my parents, contributing to society. But I came to see that future as the cumulative result of my own actions each year, each month, each day, and every single moment. This perspective made it feel less distant or vague. Instead, I believed that every bit of study and experience I diligently pursued in the present moment was an important component that would shape my future self. This allowed me to find meaning in even small achievements and motivate myself.
Just as it’s hard to imagine the finished form when first stacking Lego blocks, yet following the blueprint and persistently building piece by piece eventually creates a masterpiece that amazes everyone, I believe my life is being completed in that same way, piece by piece. The countless small pieces that make up who I am today are not yet complete, but I pour my heart into each one, imbuing them with meaning and value. And I look forward to the day when all this time accumulates and builds up to complete another grand picture. Today, I carefully fit another piece into place.

School Life

There was a time when I was deeply immersed in the question, “What can I prepare right now for my future self?” Back then, I often thought of each moment of my past as a small block, one by one, coming together to build the future me. So I always focused my mind, determined not to waste my daily routine, and worked hard to fulfill my given duties without slacking off. Imagining what kind of picture the things I accomplished in my perhaps monotonous daily life would eventually complete was quite an interesting and enjoyable thing for me. It might one day emerge as a splendid form recognized by all, drawing praise like “You were always exceptional.” Conversely, it could remain as a regret from the past, too shameful to share with anyone. During my school days, I couldn’t clearly envision which path I would take, but I often contemplated those possibilities.
But I also always carried the anxiety that if I abandoned all the effort and achievements I’d built up so far just because the future was still uncertain, everything I’d accumulated could crumble. So I didn’t settle for the status quo; I constantly pushed myself, striving to take one more step forward. I wanted to create something that would inspire admiration in anyone, and I wanted to adorn my life beautifully with those accomplishments. And even though the daily efforts might seem small and sometimes insignificant, I held onto the belief that eventually, those pieces would come together to complete the big picture. That belief always kept my resolve firm, and with the conviction that I could absolutely do it, I could tackle today’s tasks again.
In this way, I always tried to live with a long-term perspective. I reminded myself not to become someone who gets overly excited or disappointed by short-term results, or who easily gives up just because immediate outcomes aren’t visible. Instead, I believed that even if changes and growth weren’t apparent now, they would surely become clear with time. With that belief alone, I continue to walk my path steadily and silently, day after day.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Personality

I value the ‘consistency’ of meticulously building up each piece of my daily routine, immersing myself in that process. While it may appear repetitive from the outside, I believe only a solid foundation, built with sustained effort over time, can truly create a stable future. Achievements gained hastily in a short time are often temporary and insufficient to earn trust. Conversely, I believe that efforts built step by step, with time as the adhesive, ultimately lead to results anyone can trust.
Just as the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” I prefer a path where I can take in the surrounding scenery, maintain composure, and reflect on the situation at a pace that allows me to advance, rather than running breathlessly or pushing myself to the limit. It is through this calm, methodical process of conquering the path that I believe one finally reaches mature and meaningful conclusions. In this journey of steady, unhurried progress, I find I can understand myself more deeply, consider harmony with my surroundings, and foster sustainable growth.
Because of this tendency, I’ve sometimes been told, “Aren’t you just trying to make overly safe choices?” or “Aren’t you too passive when it comes to challenges that push beyond your limits?” However, I believe it’s more desirable to first refine my capabilities through relatively gentle stretches, building sufficient self-confidence, before taking on challenges, rather than forcing myself up steep slopes from the start. Rash challenges undertaken unprepared can ruin outcomes and even erode confidence. I firmly believe that the very process of steadily building one’s skills ultimately leads to larger and more solid achievements.

Life Philosophy

My life philosophy is to diligently prepare for my later years, step by step, laying a solid foundation so that I can perfectly fit the final piece of life’s puzzle. When first confronted with puzzle pieces scattered in all directions, anyone is bound to feel anxiety and frustration, wondering, ‘How on earth am I supposed to fit all these together?’ However, as time passes and the pieces gradually fill the gaps, connecting one to another, the entire picture eventually emerges, and a grand trajectory is completed. Experiencing this process naturally leads one to await the moment of fitting the final piece with a trembling heart and earnest longing.
Just as one can only clearly see the result when every puzzle piece finds its place and the picture is fully complete, so it is with life. To avoid disappointment or dissatisfaction when looking back on my life’s trajectory at its end, I constantly strive to fill my life more meaningfully, even in this very moment. To leave no room for meaningless regret, and so that the final scene can be one I can be proud of. Never forgetting that every moment of life is a process leading to the final puzzle piece, I continue to quietly orchestrate my life today.

Motivation for Application and Aspirations After Joining

Like fitting together each small puzzle piece, my attitude toward preparing for the future today is an important personal trait I can never neglect. I have personally experienced how small moments, often overlooked in daily life, can accumulate and ultimately lead to significant, meaningful achievements. Through this experience, I have believed in and practiced the ‘value of work’ that is built through consistent daily effort. I believe this mindset is not about short-term, intense achievements, but rather a process of quietly honing one’s skills over time to reach where I am today. In that sense, your company’s philosophy of reaching its current position through relentless preparation and growth naturally aligns with my own beliefs, which is why I am applying for this opportunity.
If given the chance to demonstrate my abilities at your company, I will not merely display a conspicuous readiness for the future. Instead, I will consciously gather the small experiences and processes of daily life, carefully setting them aside as nourishment for my future self. I am confident that such accumulated effort will eventually yield significant results, proving tangible trust to our customers through that very change and growth. Just as dripping water wears away stone and flowing water leaves its mark on the riverbed, we sometimes create profound change within the power of time, the passage of years, without even realizing it. I want to show you directly the results born from that power of time, the value of accumulation, and a consistent attitude. This is the vision I aim to achieve at your company, and it is also the future I wish to realize for myself.
