What kind of speech should I give at the principal’s inauguration ceremony?

In this blog post, we’ll introduce examples of speeches you can deliver at a principal’s inauguration ceremony along with tips for writing them.

I will strive to be a respected and trustworthy principal

Good afternoon, everyone.
I am ○○○, the newly appointed principal of ○○ High School. First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has joined us here today. I also extend my deepest thanks to the Chairperson of the School Operations Committee and the many parents who took time out of their busy schedules to grace this occasion.
Looking back, my ○○ years in the teaching profession have been truly diverse and profound. There were moments filled with joy and fulfillment, and there were also days when I had to reflect on myself amidst frustration and worry. However, I believe that because I steadfastly held my ground and took each step one at a time, I am able to stand before you today as the principal of ○○ High School.
Not long ago, I happened to see a scene on a morning broadcast where a teacher and student appeared together. There, the teacher said, “A teacher must earn the respect of their students and uphold trust with their colleagues.” Those words struck me deeply, as if they were a message meant for me. In that moment, I suddenly asked myself: Have I truly been a teacher worthy of my students’ respect? Have I upheld trust in my relationships with fellow faculty? And have I been able to earn the trust of parents? If I ask myself honestly, it’s difficult to readily answer “yes.” I have always felt inadequate and have constantly strived to learn more to become a better educator.
I believe that ‘teaching’ is not just a job, but a mission bestowed by heaven. Some say teaching is something anyone can do. But that statement stems from a lack of understanding of the true nature of teaching. A teacher is not merely someone who imparts knowledge. Rather, they are someone who lives with anguish, passion, and the patience to wait for long periods. A true educator does not seek recognition from others; they are someone who quietly stands their ground for the bright future of children. I, too, have walked this path to emulate such an educator’s life, and I will not stop walking it.
The ○○ High School I wish to create is one where students come to school joyfully each morning, where teachers deeply feel the fulfillment of education, and where parents can entrust their children with peace of mind. Yet such a school cannot be built by wishful thinking alone. I believe change always begins with small actions. When thoughts are translated into deeds, and those deeds accumulate, only then does a school grow and transform. Starting today, my first day in office, I will do my utmost to help ○○ High School advance step by step. Above all, if it is for the students, I am always ready to roll up my sleeves and step forward.
Yet my strength alone is never enough. I earnestly ask all of you here today—students, teachers, and parents—to join me. I implore everyone to pool our strength so ○○ High School can advance toward a brighter future. The wisdom and cooperation of many create far greater change than the effort of one. I believe mutual trust, warm concern, and continuous communication are the most powerful forces that drive a school forward.
Finally, I express my deepest gratitude once more for your warm congratulations and encouragement. I pledge here today to dedicate all my passion and effort toward the bright future of ○○ High School. I will always walk alongside you, striving to be a principal who earns your respect and trust. Thank you.

For a school that fosters harmony over competition

Hello, everyone.
First, I extend my deepest gratitude to all who have watched my inauguration with warm eyes and sent sincere blessings. My heart standing here today is filled not so much with joy, but rather with a heavy and profound sense of responsibility. Deeply aware of the weight of the role I must shoulder, I intend to lead the school with an even more earnest attitude.
I too am deeply aware that society’s concerns about middle school education are growing daily. As time passes, middle school is increasingly losing its fundamental educational function, transforming into a battleground for admission to prestigious high schools. Faced with the current reality where students learn fierce and ruthless competition before character education, I cannot help but feel sorrow when I think of our students navigating adolescence—the most sensitive and vulnerable period of their lives. This educational environment, where students internalize endless competition far too early, is precisely the issue we must reflect upon and reconsider.
Therefore, I intend to set the vision for school operations not on ‘intensifying competition,’ but on ‘harmony-centered’ principles. My goal is to minimize unnecessary competition wherever possible, eliminate an overly achievement-focused atmosphere, and foster a school culture where students can cooperate, care for one another, and grow together. Of course, the efforts of students aspiring to enter their desired high schools and the resulting level of competition are unavoidable. However, I believe there is no need to deliberately bring that competition to the surface, fostering anxiety and fear among students. School is not a temporary institution solely for entrance exams, and it is certainly not a Spartan-style cram school. School is a space where individuals learn the fundamental qualities and attitudes needed to live as members of society. It is a living classroom where students interact, resolve conflicts, and learn the value of community.
To revive this socializing function of school, I intend to make ‘harmony’ a core value of our school education. It is time for the school to anchor itself, so students can first grasp the meaning of cooperation over competition and learn the joy of living alongside others. In this regard, I would like to share a symbolic story.
Once upon a time, there was a bird with two heads. The two heads constantly quarreled, eventually devising plans to harm each other. However, since they shared one body, any act of harming the other inevitably destroyed themselves. Ultimately, the bird lost its life. This bird in the story is also a self-portrait of our society, trapped within today’s overheated competitive structure. While relentlessly racing toward the sole goal of success, we risk falling into a vicious cycle where we wound each other and exhaust ourselves. Therefore, now more than ever, schools must break free from this shackle of competition. Students must be able to build friendships, learn the value of harmony and unity, and grow into healthy members of society. That is precisely the kind of school I want to create.
This path cannot be walked alone. I desperately need your support and cooperation by my side. If we all unite our wills and contribute our strength, I believe our school can transform from a cold arena of competition into a warm space of coexistence and harmony.
Once again, I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who took precious time out of your busy schedules to attend this inauguration ceremony. I wish peace and prosperity to your families always, and with that, I conclude my remarks.
Thank you.

Our school’s motto is ‘Dream, Love, Creativity’

Hello, members of the ○○ Middle School educational family. It’s good to see you.
Autumn has arrived, bringing with it a crisp breeze that brushes against our collars. The clear, transparent sky is a vivid blue, as if paint had been spilled, and the deep, golden hues of autumn, almost within reach, permeate our daily lives. Facing such crisp weather, we naturally reflect on the origins and roots of life.
Our people first appeared in history under the name ‘Joseon,’ and its origins trace back to the well-known Dangun myth. Having lived on the Korean Peninsula for thousands of years, we have cultivated the land, nurtured our culture, and embraced one another through the long ages. The enduring traditions and sense of community built over time have become the foundation that shaped us into who we are today.
○○ Middle School has only been in operation for five short years, yet its stable establishment and steady growth during this time are by no means coincidental. It is a valuable outcome created through the cooperation, consideration, and collective efforts of students, faculty, parents, and the entire local community, all within the strong protective walls of the Republic of Korea. I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has been with us throughout this journey.
Today, as the school principal, I stand here bearing the weighty responsibility of helping our students grow into talented individuals equipped with the core competencies demanded by the 21st-century knowledge-based society. Modern society demands ‘well-rounded individuals’ who possess both character and competence, rather than mere knowledge. Character is a warm heart that cares for and loves others, willingly practicing sharing. Competence is the ability to create new knowledge independently, based on creative thinking. Individuals who balance these two qualities are precisely the talents most sought after today.
Our school aims to align with this era’s demands by establishing a clear educational vision and developing concrete action plans to realize it. Our educational vision is to “cultivate talents who practice care and sharing through love, create new knowledge through creativity, and proactively realize their own lives through dreams.” This vision is not merely an abstract goal; it is fully embodied in our school motto: ‘Dream, Love, Creativity’.
To realize this, we plan to operate the school based on several key directions moving forward. First, we will strengthen curriculum-centered school operations to ensure the vision is not just a slogan but is actually implemented within classroom instruction and diverse educational activities. We will foster a healthy educational environment where all members share this vision and work together to put it into practice.
Furthermore, we will significantly enhance communication and cooperation among all school members. We will create frequent opportunities for sharing opinions, not only through formal meetings but also through informal gatherings and conversations, fostering an open atmosphere where everyone feels free to express their thoughts. We will also strive to establish institutional foundations to cultivate a school culture that respects not only students’ human rights but also teachers’ human rights and professional authority.
Career education to support students’ exploration and choices will also be strengthened in a more systematic way. We will prepare diverse programs and provide continuous support so that each and every student can discover their aptitudes and talents and proactively design their future. Moreover, the most important thing is cultivating students’ self-directed learning capabilities. The subject of learning is not the teacher, but the student. Teachers are facilitators who guide and assist students so they can learn and grow independently. All of our teachers will work together to support you, helping you cultivate intellectual curiosity, find joy in learning, and build the strength to study independently.
I would like to take this opportunity to share one request with you, our students. Each of you possesses unique talents and potential. Believe in your own capabilities and boldly challenge yourselves in what you do well, what you love, and what you find meaningful. Through this journey, your dreams will gradually become clearer, and you will grow into individuals equipped with the core competencies needed by future society.
As your principal and as an educator, I will believe in and cheer for your potential to the very end. I will also strive to create the best educational environment where every student is respected and can grow, through constant communication and cooperation with parents, faculty, and the local community.
Under the motto of ‘Dream, Love, Creativity,’ I hope we can all unite and walk together toward a better future. I ask for your continued warm interest and support for ○○ Middle School, and I sincerely thank you for always being with us.

We aim to build a ‘school worthy of the name’ together

Hello, everyone. It’s a pleasant autumn morning. Moreover, today is Gaecheonjeol, our nation’s precious national holiday. Gaecheonjeol, meaning ‘the opening of heaven and the founding of the nation,’ is the day we commemorate the birth of the Republic of Korea. Recalling the Dangun myth, you may remember the story of the bear who, after long endurance, was reborn as a human and founded Gojoseon. Building upon that mythical beginning, we opened the first chapter of history under the name ‘Joseon’. Through countless changes and challenges, we have arrived at the name ‘Republic of Korea’ today. It is with a particularly special heart that I deliver my inaugural address on this meaningful day, and I hope we can reflect on its significance together through this occasion.
Since the personnel announcement on October 1st, many have sent heartfelt congratulations and words of encouragement. Along with warm remarks like, “You’ve worked so hard all these years; how wonderful it must be to become principal now,” many have offered generous praise. After 25 years as a classroom teacher, 3 and a half years as vice principal, and 3 and a half years as a school superintendent—this glorious position, reached after over 32 years in education, holds a special meaning for me. Perhaps that’s why so many congratulatory messages resonated deeply within me. Yet, that joy was fleeting. Suddenly, I found myself asking this question: “Now that I’m principal, the hard work must be over, right?” If I were to take this statement at face value and view the position of principal as a guarantee of comfort, I would be deeply ashamed of myself as an educator tasked with setting education straight. At that very moment, the weight on my shoulders grew heavier.
Respected faculty members, parents, and students. I sincerely thank everyone who has welcomed me so warmly. Rather than making requests from this podium, I wish to share my resolve and determination as I embark on leading this school. It is said that education today faces a severe crisis, both within and outside our system. We even frequently hear that schools stand on the edge of a cliff. However, if we only seek the cause of the problem externally, or stop at blaming or resentment, the fundamental issues in education will never be resolved. I believe the true solution lies within us, and we ourselves hold the key. If our children are not walking the right path, the responsibility lies with us adults. We must reflect on our own shortcomings—our failure to teach properly and to provide the right direction. If children are lost and wandering, perhaps they were desperately waiting for someone’s ‘beacon of light’.
Of course, the strength of one person, the principal, is insufficient. However, I am confident that if the passion of teachers who sincerely love children and the warm hearts of parents, ready to endure any hardship for their children, come together as one, we can certainly build a ‘school worthy of the name’ that realizes ‘education worthy of the name’. During my tenure as principal, I will place ‘learning’ at the core of our values. Because learning is the most fundamental reason schools exist, transcending eras, and it is the core goal of education.
The greater the ambition we hold when embarking on any endeavor, the better. The commitment I have shared thus far is by no means a small resolve, and it may well be a challenge too great for my personal capabilities alone. Yet I believe. If my philosophy and resolve to place children at the heart of education and build a proper school are heading in the right direction, I am confident our teachers will stand with me. I am equally certain that parents and students will join us with warm support and encouragement.
I will do my utmost to live up to this position and ensure my name is not in vain. And together with you all, I will build the ‘school that truly embodies what a school should be’ that we all dream of. Thank you.

I will strive relentlessly to grow into a global leader

New buds began peeking out one by one from between branches that seemed lifeless. May has arrived, intent on painting the entire world green. At first glance, it seems the season has suddenly changed, but change usually begins very small and subtle, making it hard to notice unless you look closely. People usually only feel spring has truly arrived when bright green leaves sprout on branches and flowers bloom in full splendor.
The same holds true in our daily lives. Only when significant, obvious changes occur do people sense something has happened. Yet true growth quietly begins within changes that are not easily seen. The sensitivity to discern the meaning in small changes and delicately receive the message they hold—that is precisely the attitude we need most right now.
Just as you cultivate eyes to notice nature’s transformations, I hope you extend warm attention to the people around you. May you become someone who can read hearts and reach out through a subtle change in someone’s expression or a brief word. I sincerely hope you become someone who opens your eyes and ears to move forward toward the world.
I believe nothing fosters personal growth like communication. Through sincere dialogue, we understand one another, and in that process, we gain broader perspectives and deeper insights. Therefore, I too will constantly strive to be a principal who communicates with you. I will always approach you with an open heart, so please feel free to share your thoughts with me anytime.
Today, as I take office as your new principal, I wish to share a few words of advice and outline the direction of change ahead.
You are spending the most crucial period of your growth from youth to adulthood at ○○. This is a great blessing and a valuable opportunity for your future. ○○ holds the educational goal of “cultivating global leaders grounded in the identity of proud Koreans,” and this philosophy is deeply embedded throughout the school curriculum.
The curriculum you are currently participating in consists of identity education, leadership activities, and international education, with identity and leadership comprising 50% of the whole and international education the remaining 50%. This program is systematically designed to help you grow into well-rounded global talents with balanced perspectives and capabilities.
Moving forward, ○○ plans to further deepen and expand these three pillars of education. Starting in the second semester, we will particularly strengthen identity education and leadership activities. This will help you develop pride as members of Korean society while simultaneously cultivating the ability to confidently engage with the world. Furthermore, we will ensure that the process of organizing the outcomes of these activities into written form also enhances your Korean language skills. The ability to express your thoughts accurately and deeply in Korean is one of the essential qualities a leader must possess.
To support this educational process, starting in the second semester, the teaching staff will be newly composed of educators spanning a wide range of ages. Teachers ranging from their 50s to their 20s will collaborate, enabling students to receive education from a more stable and diverse range of perspectives. Furthermore, through continuous and systematic evaluations of leadership instructors, including native-speaking teachers, we will foster an educational environment where all faculty can become more immersed in student guidance.
All these changes will be implemented within the community norms of ○○. The school places great importance on order and responsibility as a community and will henceforth apply these norms to students more strictly and consistently. This will serve as the foundation for you to learn how to act responsibly within the community and ultimately grow into true leaders.
All the changes and efforts the school is pursuing will ultimately contribute to each and every one of you growing into global leaders. Simultaneously, ○○ will also be able to take another step forward as a world-class educational institution.
However, this progress can never be achieved by the school’s efforts alone. It absolutely requires the understanding, cooperation, and sincere participation of students, teachers, and parents. We ask for your warm interest and mature participation.
I hope your journey ahead is filled with infinite possibilities and growth, and I too will walk that path with you. Thank you.

We kindly request the active cooperation of parents for your children’s education

Hello,
I am the newly appointed principal of Seoul ○○ Elementary School. I am deeply honored and privileged to become a new member of this school and to be with you all. I am truly delighted to embark on this new beginning as one family alongside our hundred-plus beloved children, our dedicated faculty and staff, our parents and alumni who offer warm care and affection, and our local community members.
A school is not merely a place for imparting knowledge. It must be a foundation for learning where children nurture their individual dreams and are empowered to lead their future lives with autonomy. To achieve this, sincere communication and genuine personal connections between teachers and students are essential. Parents and the community must also trust the school and warmly join hands with us. Above all, it is crucial that we all take pride in the name ‘○○ Elementary School’ and work together to build a school children want to come to, want to stay in, and enjoy learning at.
Dear children,
I would like to begin my first greeting to you today this way. Not “Just study hard,” but “Do what you want to do to your heart’s content. However, you must never cause harm to others.” Each of you can freely challenge yourselves toward your dreams. However, in that process, you must always deeply consider how your actions might affect others before acting. Reflecting on what meaning your favorite things hold for the community, and whether they can bring positive change to the world we share together, is the true beginning of learning.
I also extend a heartfelt request to parents and community members.
Traditional education primarily focused on lining children up in a single file based on scores and grades. But now is the time to move toward an education that lines them up in multiple files, allowing each child to express their aptitudes and talents and find fulfillment in their chosen fields. Every child is a unique being. We urgently need an education that respects each child’s individual pace and direction, rather than comparison and competition.
Children are not the possessions of their parents. Rather than imposing or forcing your own thoughts and expectations onto them, please warmly wait for your child to make their own judgments and choices, and be a steadfast supporter. Our children today are the ones who will live in a completely new era, one we cannot even imagine. What they need most is not adults who give them the right answers, but adults who walk alongside them, helping them learn to ask questions and find answers for themselves.
Education is never achieved solely through the school’s efforts. When families and the local community join together, the fruits of that labor become richer and more robust. The diverse experiences and wisdom accumulated in the lives of parents and community members are invaluable assets that can fill gaps in school education. We earnestly ask that we all embrace the mindset of being ‘teachers’ and contribute our strength from our respective positions so that every child in our village can grow up healthy.
Dear children, teachers, parents, graduates, and community members!
We are one community gathered under the name ‘○○ Elementary School,’ and furthermore, we are one family. Let us pool our collective strength and wisdom to build a school children want to transfer to and a village parents want to move to. As principal, I will listen to your voices, deliberate together, and communicate openly. I will do my utmost to create a better school that brings satisfaction and pride to everyone.
Thank you.

I am deeply grateful for your warm welcome

It is a great honor to serve at ○○ Elementary School, a prestigious institution boasting a rich history and tradition. While I am delighted to stand in this meaningful position, I also feel a cautious concern that my capabilities might still be insufficient. However, with the steadfast support of our excellent Vice Principal and the warm-hearted collaboration of all our staff members, such anxieties quickly fade.
We who now work together at ○○ Elementary School are already fellow members of the educational family aboard the same ship. Today, thirteen teachers, including myself, have newly boarded the ○○ vessel. Though I joined later, I have been entrusted with the captain’s role. I keenly feel the weight and responsibility this position carries. I will do my utmost, joining forces with everyone aboard this ship, to ensure we arrive safely at our destination.
Having boarded the same vessel, we are now companions who will share both joy and sorrow, pleasure and hardship. On calm seas during our voyage, we will marvel together at the beautiful water colors and soft moonlight, like the Hallyeosudo coastline. Yet, should storms rage and rough waves threaten us, we must pool our strength to bail out the water, preventing the ship from running aground. By trusting and helping each other to overcome crises together, we can complete this voyage to the very end.
I believe in the wisdom and warm hearts of our ○○ Education family. No matter what crisis arises, I am confident that by cooperating and joining hands, we can raise our children uprightly and surely achieve the great goals of realizing the Second National Education and fostering an educational culture.
At this point, I’d like to share a story. When asked, “What’s the fastest way to get to America?” many answer, “Taking the fastest plane.” At first glance, it seems like the right answer, but I think the true answer might be, “Traveling with someone you love.” Because when you’re with someone precious, the journey becomes more than just moving from place to place; it becomes a meaningful and valuable time.
This workplace we wake up to every morning occupies a significant portion of our lives. If the people we share it with are warm and wonderful companions, each day becomes joyful and rewarding. Conversely, time spent with someone who makes us uncomfortable, no matter how brief, inevitably feels heavy and burdensome.
Today marks a new school year, a day of fresh beginnings. On such a day, we are deeply grateful for the warm welcome extended to us by the entire ○○ Education family. Now, as a member of this family myself, I look forward to joining forces with you, sharing our hearts, and building each day together.
Of course, we all started as strangers. Even within a single family, parents and children, brothers and sisters sometimes clash in opinion and hurt each other’s feelings. But if we show just a little more understanding and consideration for each other, open our hearts a little wider, and make concessions, we can become sincere companions. If we walk together with that spirit, we will always remain warm and heartwarming presences to each other.
I truly look forward to the time we will spend together. Once again, I sincerely ask for your support. Thank you.

Together, we will build a healthy ○○ Middle School

Hello. I am truly delighted to have been appointed as the principal of ○○ Middle School and to have the opportunity to learn and grow together with all of you here.
Above all, I express my deepest respect and gratitude to the former principal and all the teachers who have led with dedication and passion to make today’s ○○ Middle School possible. I, too, will do my utmost in this meaningful position to ensure our students grow up upright and confident, and that the school develops in an even healthier way.
However, the school’s development can never be achieved by the principal’s efforts alone. Only when the entire school community—teachers, students, and parents—cooperates with one heart, looking in the same direction, can we create meaningful change. To draw an analogy with a tug-of-war, the rope remains centered and static only when both sides maintain a balanced effort. But the moment one side loses focus or veers off course, the rope tilts, and the outcome of the contest is decided. Similarly, the school community can only move forward with harmonious cooperation and strong unity. I will continue to stand at the center of this community, quietly fulfilling my responsibilities. I hope you too will join me in taking responsibility from your respective positions.
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you a few things I have always considered important in the educational field. First is ‘growing up healthily as a young person’. Our students are currently going through a period of rapid physical and mental change and growth. This is also a crucial time when the direction and foundation of their lives are set. The ‘health’ I speak of goes beyond mere physical sturdiness. True health is achieved only when mind and body harmonize and grow in balance. A healthy body provides the energy to take initiative in any activity, while a healthy mind cultivates the strength to govern oneself well and advance steadfastly. I hope every student will cherish themselves, take good care of themselves, and cultivate a healthy life.
Second, I want to emphasize the attitude of “studying diligently, playing diligently, and working diligently.” Now is the time when you can learn with the most energy and enthusiasm. This period, filled with passion for learning and moving toward your own dreams, is a precious time that will build a solid foundation for your life. Whether you’re preparing for further education or exploring your career path, your current experiences and efforts will become assets that illuminate your future.
Equally important as studying is a ‘willingness to work.’ Finding meaning and taking initiative on your own, rather than just doing things because someone tells you to, greatly helps you chart your own life’s course. The habit of responsibly completing even small, seemingly insignificant tasks will ultimately make your life more solid and mature. I also often say, “Work hard and play hard.” Here, “play” doesn’t mean simply passing time, but engaging in wholesome hobbies you enjoy and can immerse yourself in, such as art, sports, or reading. This time helps balance your life and enriches your self, making it deeper and more fulfilling.
Of course, for the school to develop even more splendidly, various other elements are also necessary. But above all, what matters most is ‘practice’—aligning words with actions. We often have wonderful ideas or say the right things, but putting them into practice is not always easy. Sincere practice is the first step toward change and the driving force for continuous growth. Moving forward, I want to build these small acts of practice, one by one, together with the teachers and all of you students. If you have any thoughts or ideas that come to mind during your school life, please don’t hesitate to share them. Even if it’s a small, simple suggestion, if we practice it together, ○○ Middle School can grow into a much warmer and more vibrant space than it is now.
Now we stand at a new starting point. When each of us does our best in our respective roles, trusts one another, and cooperates, we can truly build a ‘healthy ○○ Middle School’. A healthy school built together by everyone—this journey requires the participation of each and every one of you. I look forward to us walking together and becoming a strong community that supports each other’s growth.
Thank you.

We kindly request your warm cooperation for the development of ○○ School

Hello, everyone.
First, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the faculty members, the Chairperson of the School Operations Committee, and the parents who have taken precious time out of your busy schedules to be here today.
I began my teaching career at ○○ Elementary School and later served as Vice Principal here, accumulating countless experiences and cherished memories. Now, drawing on my educational experience and lessons learned in the field, I will do my utmost to build a more progressive and vibrant ○○ Elementary School together with the faculty and parents, building upon the educational foundation you have cultivated.
I sincerely cherish our connection, and I hope today’s occasion transcends a simple greeting to become a new starting point for growing together and advancing toward the future. Education can never be achieved by the strength or thoughts of one person alone. Only when our collective wisdom, passion, and sense of mission come together can we achieve better education.
One value commonly pursued by educationally advanced nations is ‘Respect’.
“Respect Yourself.”
Only those who know how to value themselves can respect others. When our faculty and staff grow and develop based on pride and expertise in their work, our school will also be able to leap forward to the next level.
“Respect Others.” — Respect others.
I sincerely respect all the teachers who work alongside me. I will listen attentively to the valuable opinions of faculty and parents, hearing them with an open mind and showing respect. Mutual respect is the beginning of trust and will be the foundation for building a healthy and warm school culture.
A culture where we greet each other with bright faces first, where children’s cheerful laughter naturally blossoms in daily life, and where we share warm hearts with one another—this is the image of the educational community we should strive for. I aspire to be an ‘excellent compromiser.’ True compromise stems from concession and understanding; the power of cooperation is only realized when we respect others. Through a culture of mutual respect and consideration, I will create a happy educational environment.
The most crucial core of our school community is ‘communication’. I will always keep my heart open and sincerely listen to your voices. I also aim to frequently meet and communicate with parents whenever possible, building a school where we laugh together and share concerns together—an ○○ Elementary School where everyone is happy. I trust that parents will continue to walk alongside us with the same warm care and love as always.
There is a saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
We are steadfast companions to the children of ○○, who live in this global era, carrying the proud future of Korea forward. For the bright and healthy future of our children, I hope we can be a source of strength for each other as we journey together on this long road.
Finally, I sincerely thank the former principal, the faculty and staff, and the parents who entrusted me with the important role of principal of ○○ Elementary School despite my shortcomings, offering me their unstinting support and trust. I also wish to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my wife and beloved daughter and son, who have always stood silently by my side and cheered me on.
I ask for your continued interest, cooperation, and support so that ○○ Elementary School can grow into a warm learning community and a school loved by all. Together, we can surely build a better tomorrow.
Thank you.

I will listen attentively to your thoughts and opinions, students

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Chairperson of the ○○○ School Management Committee, the President of the ○○○ Parents’ Association, the ○○○ Management Committee members, the President of the Alumni Association ○○○, and all distinguished guests and parents who took precious time out of your busy schedules to join us today. And above all, I am truly delighted to see the students of ○○ High School, who honor this occasion with your presence.
Standing here today, I carry the weighty responsibility of being your principal, yet I also stand with a sincere resolve. I believe my most important mission is to help you discover the true value of life and grow in the right direction. I intend to lead this school by restoring the essence of education and focusing on character education that cultivates ‘humane individuals,’ while also emphasizing creativity education that comprehensively utilizes knowledge and information to create innovation.
Drawing on the diverse experience and knowledge I have accumulated in the educational field, I will faithfully fulfill my role as both a manager and leader in school administration. With foresight, I will prepare for the future, present a clear vision shared by all members of the school community, and forge a new school culture through democratic and professional leadership.
Dear students, you are the true owners of our school. You are also the very subjects of your own learning. Teachers are your companions on this journey, warm guides walking alongside you. You must cultivate your own intellectual curiosity, find interest in learning, and approach your studies with an autonomous attitude. I encourage you to use diverse experiences—extracurricular activities, specialized talent education, and class activities—as opportunities to fully unfold your unique talents and abilities.
Every person is born with unique abilities. It is paramount to believe in your own potential and possess the confidence to say, “This is something I can do well.” Underpinning this must be a positive self-concept rooted in self-love and self-respect. Cultivating the courage to not fear failure, the perseverance to never stop challenging yourself, and the drive to keep pushing forward—these will be the very foundations that nurture your growth. The true loser is not the one who fails, but the one who never even dares to try.
Moving forward, I will communicate more closely with you, our students, and listen sincerely to your thoughts and opinions. I am confident that each and every one of your voices will be a precious foundation for the further development of our school. Shared ideas will be the beginning of change, and that change will lead to growth for us all.
You are learning in our school, blessed with a natural environment imbued with the spirit of Jirisan Mountain and possessing a long tradition and proud history. You are ‘happy students’ continuing your education under teachers who are more passionate and capable than anyone else. Your potential is limitless. If you hold respect and gratitude for your teachers, prepare diligently based on their teachings, and grow steadily, you will undoubtedly become the outstanding talents this society needs.
Finally, I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has made this occasion even more meaningful today. I sincerely cheer for the bright and vibrant future of all our students. I hope you will hold onto the resolve you have made in your hearts at this very moment for a long time to come. I, too, will not lose sight of my original aspirations and will dedicate all my passion to building a student-centered school and an educational community that grows together.
Thank you.
