What should be included in a new CEO’s inaugural address?

This blog post introduces key messages and structural elements that would be beneficial to include in a new CEO’s inaugural address.

CEO Inaugural Address

Good morning, everyone.
My walk to the office this morning felt a little different than usual. It was a day where warm sunshine and a cool breeze blended together, allowing me to fully appreciate the essence of autumn. The clear, blue sky stretching out beyond the window was so beautiful it felt a shame to stay cooped up in the office. October brought frequent rain and somewhat chilly days, but November seems to have arrived with a softer, warmer energy. On a day like this, when one feels the urge to go outdoors, I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to all of you who are diligently doing your best at your respective posts. Today, those of you gathered here are truly the most impressive.
Once again, I extend my sincere greetings. I am ○○○, who has been appointed as the new CEO of ○○ Company effective today.
The term ‘new CEO’ may feel somewhat unfamiliar and awkward. When changes occur in an existing system, a little discomfort or concern naturally follows. Some of you may be concerned that this change might make the work environment more difficult. However, I will do my utmost to ensure you personally experience that such worries are unfounded, and that this change was the better choice for all of us. I will never let you down.
As CEO, there is something I must share with you here today. For our company to quickly reach a stable trajectory and achieve sustainable growth, we need your help above all else. And the starting point is none other than your ‘voice’. Please speak up without hesitation about what problems exist in the company now, what areas are uncomfortable and need improvement. Ultimately, the true direction of the organization stems from the honest opinions of you, the people actually working on the front lines.
I want you to be members who believe that ‘what needs to be said must be said’. I want us to build a culture together where you can express your opinions freely, without fear of judgment or burden, in any way you choose. It doesn’t matter if the opinion is big or small. Even minor inconveniences are welcome. If you feel something is unreasonable within the organization, please let me know anytime. I will treat every single word you say as the most valuable advice.
Of course, I am aware that the current organizational culture may somewhat restrict the free expression of opinions. The more authority and hierarchy are emphasized in an organization, the harder it can be for members to speak up. Therefore, as a practical way to facilitate smoother communication with you all, I intend to share my internal messenger ID with every employee. This goes beyond simple information sharing; it is a promise to open a direct channel for one-on-one communication with the CEO. If you have something you want to say, even a simple opinion, please send it directly to me via messenger.
I envision an organizational culture where “someone can speak their mind to me, I can speak mine to them, and afterward, there are no lingering hard feelings.” If the words exchanged within such a culture stem from affection and consideration for one another, there could be no healthier organization. “A company where people can speak their minds, and where those words are willingly accepted”—that is precisely the image I am painting for ○○ Company.
I am absolutely not a stubborn or inflexible person. If it’s a conversation for the growth of the company and all of you, I am prepared to humbly listen and sincerely reflect, even if it means hearing harsh words at times. And I sincerely hope you will receive this heartfelt request I am making today with an open mind.
Moving forward, as the CEO of ○○ Company, I will cherish the future of each and every one of you and dedicate all my capabilities to ensuring our company builds a better tomorrow. From this very moment, we walk a new path together. A better company, a better future—let’s build it together.
Thank you.

Inaugural Address as CEO

I remember reading the novel Treasure Island as a child, nurturing a longing, imagination, and fantastical dreams about the figure of a captain. As a young boy, I dreamed of one day becoming a captain steering a great ship across the vast ocean. Standing here today, I find myself on the extension of that dream, standing before you as the captain of the ship that is this company. Now, from this position of captain, I pledge to faithfully fulfill the responsibilities, duties, and roles that come with it.
The captain in Treasure Island was a fearless figure. Amid countless adversities and hardships, he steadfastly led his crew forward. As a boy, I was captivated by that ‘boss-like’ leader and nurtured my dream. However, now as an adult and a corporate leader, I have revisited that vague admiration I once held and deeply contemplated what kind of leader I should become. During this reflection, I encountered a passage that clearly articulated my thoughts:
“Bosses create fear, while leaders create confidence. Bosses assign blame, while leaders correct mistakes. A boss believes he knows everything, but a leader asks questions. A boss makes work difficult, but a leader makes it interesting.”
Through this passage, I realized once again that a true leader is not someone like the boss in Treasure Island, but rather a warm companion who embraces and accepts people. Someone who empathizes and communicates with employees, sweating alongside them on the front lines of the organization. That is precisely the kind of leader I aspire to be.
From this moment on, I wish to embark on a voyage with you all—one that may sometimes be rough and treacherous, yet equally rewarding and fascinating. My conviction in this journey stems from the clear potential and hope I see for our company to become a leading player in the near future.
The outlook for the IT industry is always a mix of highs and lows, yet the advancement of technology and the growth of the industry remain an unstoppable tide. These highs and lows are simply ‘challenges’ we must face together, enjoy together, and ultimately overcome together. And I believe the word ‘progress’ is no longer an abstract concept of the future, but rather a ‘present necessity’ and a ‘shared mission’ that we ourselves are creating right here, right now.
So, what must we do? I believe it lies in viewing the world with an open mind, giving our best in our respective roles, and cultivating expertise through diverse attempts and challenges. For this, self-development and talent cultivation are not optional but essential, forming the very foundation for companies to generate new growth engines. It requires not just the ability to solve problems, but also a prepared mindset to anticipate and prevent them proactively. Furthermore, we must not merely follow market trends but predict their shifts and cultivate a flexible organizational culture capable of embracing customer diversity and ever-changing demands.
Additionally, an attitude that embraces learning from failure without fear is an essential mindset we must adopt. However, we must ensure the same mistakes are not repeated by extracting lessons from the process and building the elements of success one by one based on those insights. When we do this, each member can take pride and confidence in being a ‘representative’ of this company. I firmly believe this will ultimately foster deep trust and sustained collaboration between the organization and its members.
I have been entrusted with a significant role at this crucial juncture. Therefore, I will rely on and trust the wisdom and passion of each and every one of you, and I look forward to walking this journey together. I sincerely hope that your dreams and aspirations can be realized within this company, and that this will directly lead to our company’s growth and development, becoming the driving force that allows us all to prepare for the future together. I aspire to be not just a CEO issuing directives from on high, but a partner who runs alongside you, shares your concerns, and laughs and cries with you.
This mindset embodies my personal philosophy regarding ‘position’. I believe a position is not a vertical control structure, but a horizontal role structure. Just as I have responsibilities as CEO, I believe each of you in your respective positions deserves respect for your roles and authority. We are all colleagues and partners, each fulfilling our given roles while moving toward the shared goal of ‘corporate development’. In fact, I may bear more responsibilities and challenges than you, and I fully understand that this is my due share to shoulder.
As mentioned earlier, I stand here today to make a clear ‘promise’ to you. I will do my utmost to keep this promise. And I earnestly ask that you, too, recommit yourselves in your respective positions for the sustained growth and future of our company.
This promise we all share together will undoubtedly be realized. As a ‘leader,’ not a ‘boss,’ and as the captain of this company, I promise to navigate steadfastly and faithfully alongside you.
Thank you.

CEO Inaugural Address

Hello, everyone.
Midsummer has arrived before we knew it. Though it’s still June, the weather is already scorching like the height of summer. These days, the seasons seem to arrive suddenly, without warning. When the passage of time feels too swift, I sometimes feel a sense of regret, and moments can seem cruelly fleeting.
We usually have time to prepare ourselves mentally for any event. Before meeting someone, we have the leisure to tidy our appearance; before an important exam, we open our textbooks one last time to steady our nerves. Yet this summer seems to have arrived suddenly, without any chance to prepare. With summer abruptly taking its place before spring has fully retreated, some of you may be overwhelmed by its intensity, worrying, “How will I endure this summer?” As this is a time when fatigue from the heat can easily set in, I urge you above all to take care of your health.
Amidst this seasonal transition, I stand here today as the CEO of ○○ Company. I hope you’ve had at least a little time to observe me and prepare yourselves mentally. Nevertheless, I fully understand that welcoming a new CEO can feel awkward and unfamiliar. Therefore, I want to make a promise to you all here today. I will prove that every step I take and every decision I make going forward is for the betterment of this change. I will dedicate all my capabilities and sincerity to earn your belief that this choice was the right one.
I have reached this position through many years of hands-on experience in the field. Starting as an employee, I progressed through various stages—associate, assistant manager, and section chief—gaining firsthand understanding of the weight and responsibility of practical work. Through this journey, I also deeply grasped the struggles and concerns of being an organizational member. Therefore, now that I have become CEO, there is one thing I want to emphasize above all else: “Let’s speak our minds.”
I remember my days as a junior employee, when I too had things I wanted to say but couldn’t easily speak up due to the atmosphere. There were many moments when I hesitated, worried that suggesting improvements or making proposals might “unnecessarily create problems.” However, I believe things must change from now on. During my tenure as CEO, there will be no “coercive atmosphere” within this company. Of course, organizational hierarchy is necessary, and basic order must be maintained. But I firmly believe that everyone should have equal opportunity to freely express their opinions.
Only when communication flows smoothly can we make quick and accurate decisions, and this ultimately becomes the driving force that propels our company ahead of our competitors. We must cultivate a culture where we exchange our voices honestly, accepting them straightforwardly without lingering resentment. And we must trust that all these conversations and communications ultimately stem from a shared ‘affection for the company.’ That is the kind of organization I want to build. An organization where each person’s thoughts and opinions are respected, and where those voices become the force that changes the company’s direction and creates a better future. That is the ideal company I envision.
As the CEO of ○○ Company moving forward, I will cherish the future of each and every one of you and dedicate my utmost effort to the development of the organization we will build together. I intend to responsibly uphold this weighty position entrusted to me at this very moment and advance toward a better tomorrow alongside you all. I ask that you share in this commitment and sincerity of mine, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude for all the journeys we will undertake together.
Thank you.

Inaugural Address as CEO

Hello, everyone.
While it is an honor to take on this important role at such a critical time, the truth is that a profound sense of responsibility and deep contemplation come before any words of congratulations. However, I am confident that if we all unite our efforts and take today as a new starting point, our company can leap forward once again. I will do my utmost to transform us into an organization where dreams and hope thrive for everyone.
First, I wish to speak frankly about the major challenges our company currently faces. We are confronting a critical crisis: bank debt exceeding our capital stock by approximately 1.5 billion won, excessive inventory assets surpassing 2 billion won, persistent sales decline, and reduced productivity due to diminished employee motivation. These problems cannot be solved by the efforts of just a few. This is a moment that urgently requires the will and action of the entire company.
Accordingly, I present the following action plan. First, we will decisively write off and dispose of the persistently accumulating problematic inventory. Furthermore, we will sell the headquarters building to prioritize repaying over 1 billion won of bank debt. We will relocate the headquarters and warehouse to a station-adjacent area with excellent transportation access, enhancing asset management efficiency and achieving cost savings. We plan to withdraw from the two chronically unprofitable department store locations and adopt a more strategic approach to discount stores to strengthen profitability.
Furthermore, we will intensively allocate more personnel, time, and capital to the newly pursued construction sector to cultivate it as a new growth engine. Simultaneously, we are gradually expanding the proportion of internet sales to strengthen our online distribution structure and preparing a strategy to offer entirely new items for special sales in offline stores. In step with this business restructuring, we are actively considering a brand renewal, including a company name change.
We sincerely thank all employees who have worked hard for the company’s development. To reward your efforts, we will gradually adjust wages to reflect market conditions and realities, and improve working hours, days off, and vacation systems in a more reasonable direction. Above all, I will lead the change myself. I will approach all tasks with a responsible attitude and, together with you, navigate this crisis with a determination to make tough sacrifices. I sincerely request the active participation of all employees.
The existing business we have sustained for nearly 30 years can no longer be expected to deliver significant sales growth or profit increases. However, transitioning to a new industry is not something that can happen overnight. Therefore, our collective creative ideas and passion are needed now more than ever. Specifically, to effectively reduce inventory assets, we must intensify our efforts in home shopping and e-commerce channels. Every employee must become a promotional ambassador for our company, taking the lead in voluntary and active marketing activities and enhancing our brand image.
Meanwhile, we plan to minimize unnecessary costs and introduce a corporate asset management program to monitor profits and losses in real time. Additionally, we will establish a systematic approval system to prevent business expense leakage and preemptively avoid any unfortunate incidents. Now, instead of saying “it’s tough” or “it’s difficult,” we must move forward with an attitude focused on finding solutions by asking “how can we resolve this?” and “what alternatives are possible?” We will gladly accept reasonable criticism and constructive suggestions. However, we will respond decisively to unproductive opposition or irresponsible attitudes that weaken the organization’s energy.
I firmly believe that when a culture of positivity and passion takes root throughout the organization, we can undoubtedly build a company alive with dreams and hope. While the road ahead may be somewhat challenging and demanding for the time being, let us move forward together, encouraging one another, ensuring no one is left behind.
Through this occasion today, I sincerely wish that genuine hope and new dreams may sprout in each of your lives and families.
Thank you.

Inaugural Address as President of the Korean Institute of Registered Architects

Hello.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for taking the time to join us today despite your busy schedules.
Architects nationwide, former presidents, presidents of city and provincial architectural societies, and distinguished guests who have honored us with your presence!
It is thanks to your trust and support that I stand here today. I deeply cherish the expectations and words of encouragement you have given me, and at the same time, I feel the weight of responsibility. I pledge once more from this place: as a president for architects, I will lead the association not with words but with action, with a sense of responsibility, and with sincere passion.
Since liberation, our architects have played a pivotal role in creating and flourishing the architectural culture of this land. Now, we stand at a new turning point, the ‘Age of Culture’. At this juncture, I firmly believe our architects must once again become the central axis for advancing culture. Currently, the government, National Assembly, and local governments nationwide are competing to emphasize creativity, sensibility, and the value of architecture and urban design. Yet, looking at reality, the architectural field has not yet fully met these societal expectations. Particularly, amid an unprecedented economic crisis, many architects face the unfortunate situation of having to worry about survival itself.
To overcome this crisis, restore the status of architects, and ultimately realize our dreams, I plan to establish a clear strategy and execute it. Today, I wish to share the direction of this strategy and its concrete implementation plan with you all. I also earnestly request the active participation and cooperation of architects nationwide.
The strategy I propose is built upon three major pillars: the ‘Strategy for Survival,’ the ‘Strategy for Recognition,’ and the ‘Strategy for Dreams.’
First, the ‘Strategy for Survival’ is the most urgent and critical task. To execute this, I will establish a ‘Special Committee for Survival Measures.’ As its chair, I will personally oversee and monitor its progress to deliver tangible and concrete results. I will ensure tangible change and impact that every architect can feel, even if it’s just one issue. This strategy focuses on developing practical measures to expand and diversify architects’ professional domains, enhancing the specialization and vitality of regional architects, and establishing a solidarity system among architects. Amidst rapidly changing times, I will strengthen policy and institutional support to enable architects’ capabilities to be utilized more diversely.
The second strategy is the ‘Strategy for Recognition’. This strategy aims to enhance the social standing of architects and elevate their external image. We will strengthen public relations activities targeting the general public, expand exchanges with the government and media, and actively promote the Architect Certification System. Furthermore, we will encourage activities to strengthen bonds among members and invigorate information exchange, and revive pride in being an architect by fostering expert committee members. We will strive to reestablish the value of architects as a profession recognized by society.
Finally, the ‘Strategy for Dreams’. This is preparation for the future we will shape together. We will restore the authority inherent in the architect qualification as a national license, take the lead in developing national architectural policies, and promote the integration of architect organizations. We will also improve the architect education system and expand international exchanges so that the capabilities of Korean architects are confidently recognized within the global architectural environment. This is not merely an ideal blueprint for the future, but a task we must make a reality.
These strategies and action plans will not remain mere slogans. We will pursue them with creative and rational judgment to bring tangible changes to the lives and workplaces of all architects. I firmly believe that by pooling our collective wisdom and capabilities and taking one step at a time, we will surely overcome the challenges we face today and advance toward a better future.
Not long ago, at our general assembly, we collectively declared, “Let us become ultra-high-strength concrete.” Just as gravel, sand, cement, and water must harmonize to form strong concrete, if every architect nationwide becomes the gravel and sand, and the Association becomes the water and cement, binding us all together firmly, we can become an ultra-high-strength community unshaken by any crisis. If we respect each other and unite our hearts, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
As President of the Korean Institute of Registered Architects, I will lead the association to become a more vigorous and steadfast organization. Together with all architects, I will realize the architectural ideals demanded by our times, guided by conviction and passion.
I sincerely thank you for your trust and will repay that trust with ardent passion and unwavering dedication.
Thank you.

Remarks upon Inauguration as CEO

Good day.
I am ○○○, newly appointed as CEO.
I sincerely thank all executives and employees for joining us here today despite the cold weather and your busy schedules.
Standing here today has required much thought and deliberation. Last night, I struggled to sleep ahead of this inauguration, likely due to the weight of this position. I believe the management entrusted me with this responsibility because they judged that new leadership is needed to navigate the complex and comprehensive crisis our company currently faces.
So, how can we overcome this crisis?
Despite the tremendous efforts of our former CEO over the past years, the problems that could not be easily resolved still lie before us. Therefore, this task is by no means simple or light. But I am certain: what we need now is not an extension of the past, but a bold and proactive shift in approach. Of course, this does not mean we must reject all previous methods and practices. But to overcome the current crisis and regain our lost market position, ‘innovation’ is absolutely essential. And I believe that innovation must start from a different direction than before.
The starting point for this change is you. The first thing we need to leap forward again is the belief that ‘we can do it’. For a long time, we have gradually lost our footing. The negative thought that ‘that place might no longer be ours’ may have quietly taken root deep within our hearts. And that thought manifested in our actions, eventually solidifying into our daily attitudes and the culture of our organization.
Howard Thurston, a famous American magician and circus performer, is said to have repeated this to himself backstage before every performance: “Today, I will give my absolute best on stage.” He believed that if he poured all his energy into the stage, the audience would surely cheer and love him, and indeed, that belief became reality. Based on that conviction and effort, he became America’s most beloved circus performer.
Of course, today’s reality differs from the past when simple effort alone solved everything. We all know that harsh reality better than anyone. Yet one truth remains unchanged: That is, ‘No reward comes without effort.’ Ultimately, we must strive. So, wouldn’t it be better to hold onto the belief that our efforts will not be in vain?
Today, I won’t discuss specific organizational restructuring or business directions here. Instead, the single message I wish to share with you all at this very moment is this: ‘Trust in yourself.’ We can do this. If we hold that belief, I will take responsibility for driving the concrete execution and strategy. And based on that belief, we will undoubtedly reclaim our position as the industry leader.
Thank you once again for staying with us for so long in this cold weather. I hope today’s gathering leaves a warm resolve in each of your hearts.
With the year drawing to a close, I wish you all a strong finish and a warm, peaceful end to the year.
Thank you.

Sample CEO Inaugural Address

Hello, everyone.
It’s a November morning where the breeze blowing through open windows feels especially refreshing. On days like this, I feel like opening every single window wide, so even the smallest objects indoors can feel this pleasant breeze at least once. Perhaps because the weather is so nice, even the approaching winter doesn’t feel so daunting.
Personally, I truly love November. December, with its inexplicable sense of regret and the busyness of year-end events, makes it hard to fully reflect on the year. But November a time where the leisure of time and the lingering echoes of the season coexist side by side. I hope your day also began pleasantly in this delightful season, just like today.
There is a clear reason for my excitement today. It is because I am greeting the ○○ family for the first time here today. I am ○○○, the newly appointed CEO, who will now serve as the 15th Chairman of ○○ and as a member of this family. It is truly a pleasure to meet you.
Standing here today, I feel both immense honor and a profound sense of responsibility. As a new member of the company and its chief executive, I deeply embrace the mission to deliberate on and lead the direction ○○ will take moving forward. I will never forget that initial resolve. I will proceed step by step with caution, advancing together with all of you.
The world today faces a situation more complex and challenging than ever before. Climate change and energy crises, coupled with growing uncertainties in the global economy, are intensifying. Even the United States, long the central axis of the world economy, is shaken by financial instability, while the European Union navigates deep economic difficulties. Amidst these currents, our economy, heavily reliant on overseas markets, is certainly no exception.
Furthermore, fierce competition over patents and intellectual property rights continues among multinational corporations both domestically and internationally. This has evolved beyond mere competition to become a core factor determining corporate survival. While this era of change undoubtedly presents significant challenges, I firmly believe it also holds new opportunities. And the key to those opportunities lies precisely in ‘people’. Those ‘people’ are none other than you.
Respected Colleagues,
We already possess sufficient capabilities within us. Our world-class technological prowess and the passion radiating from each of your positions are our greatest assets. I am confident that because of you, this company’s tomorrow is even brighter. Therefore, I have no worries. With you by my side, we can grow steadfastly through any change.
Moving forward, I will always stand with you. I will keep my ears open and my heart open. I will listen first and reflect deeply. I will sincerely listen to every new idea for management innovation, every creative problem-solving approach, and every single one of your valuable opinions. Because I believe the future we build together can only be complete when the voices of all members come together.
Each step you take is the very foundation of Korea as a science powerhouse and the path that opens ○○’s future. As your companion walking that path, I will always be by your side. I ask that you give your utmost, with a sense of mission, in your respective roles. And in that process, please never lose your pride and conviction.
Standing at this new beginning, I share these words with you, filled with both excitement and resolve. We are strongest when we stand together. Let us move forward vigorously toward a greater future for ○○, together with me and with each other. Thank you sincerely.

CEO Inaugural Address

Hello, I am ○○○.
Just a short while ago, we were buttoning up our collars against the biting wind, but as the calendar turned, spring has fully arrived. Now that we’ve entered April, streets are ablaze with colorful spring blossoms, and people’s attire has grown noticeably lighter. If asked to name the most radiant season of the year, I believe it would be this April, when all things come alive.
On such a bright and pleasant spring day, it’s only natural to feel the urge to step outside rather than sit idly at your desk. I imagine many of you are thinking the same. Yet, the reason we find rest so sweet is precisely because we work diligently every day. If we rested daily, ‘rest’ would lose its special meaning. Only after spending today busily does tomorrow’s rest become truly precious. In that sense, I believe this time we share together is the result of each of us diligently walking our own paths.
Today, I take this opportunity to greet you for the first time as CEO. Above all, I deeply empathize with your expectations and concerns about the organization’s changes more than anyone else. When a new leader takes office, it’s natural for both anticipation and apprehension to arise: “What will change?” and “Which direction should we head now?” At such a time, the first thing I want to convey is my belief that ‘sincerity always prevails’.
Of course, some might counter, “How can your heart be conveyed if you don’t speak it?” But sincerity is a depth of feeling that words alone cannot fully capture. Sometimes, the very act of putting it into words can make it feel lighter. That’s why I believe sincerity is revealed more clearly through eye contact, actions, and everyday attitudes than through words. Moving forward, I aim to be a CEO who builds genuine communication with you, grounded in that sincerity.
There will be changes, big and small, both within and outside the organization. However, no change is ever intended for the benefit of any specific individual or to disadvantage anyone. Please trust that at the heart of every change lies the company’s sustained growth and, furthermore, the development of each and every one of you. If the current system were the most stable and ideal, there would be no reason for me to stand here. Now is the time to step back, take a sober look at our reality, and correctly interpret the meaning of change.
As our company has grown year after year, our workforce has expanded, and consequently, the procedures required to handle our work have become increasingly complex. Too much time and energy are consumed just to make a single decision and put it into action. Yet, even at this very moment, the world is changing at a dazzlingly rapid pace. As you can surely feel yourselves, we can no longer keep up with this speed of change using our current methods.
Yet we cannot simply downsize the company. Therefore, the remaining choice is clear: we must overhaul our internal systems. Stagnant water inevitably rots. We must transform into a vibrant, organic organization, like clear, flowing first-class water that never stands still. I intend to walk this path alongside you. Change can sometimes feel unfamiliar and uncomfortable, but it is also a door opening to new possibilities.
I ask all employees to embrace change not with fear, but with creative and flexible thinking. Your collective mindset will become the driving force propelling our company to the next level. The tomorrow we build together will be a much larger and stronger organization than today.
Finally, I extend my sincere gratitude to every employee who has been quietly giving their best in their respective roles. Each and every one of your efforts is this company’s greatest competitive advantage. I firmly believe that all the changes and challenges ahead will be possible precisely because of you.
Thank you.

Inaugural Address by the CEO

Hello, everyone. It is a great pleasure to meet you. It is truly an honor and a thrill to become part of your family starting today. Standing before you at this formal inauguration ceremony, I finally feel like a true member of the ○○ family.
Colleagues, one topic that invariably comes up when executives gather for discussions is ‘employees’. When talking about the ideal employee, various qualities are often mentioned. However, most managers unanimously agree that the ideal talent is someone who approaches their work with passion, proactivity, and initiative. Yet, through my long experience working alongside numerous managers, I’ve become increasingly certain of one thing: managers genuinely cherish and care for every single one of their employees. Of course, an ideal employee exists, but fundamentally, there isn’t a single employee who isn’t lovable. It’s just that the way that love is expressed differs from person to person. Some leaders convey their feelings with refined, sophisticated language, while others express their hearts through actions that may be a bit clumsy but are deeply sincere. So, how will I convey my feelings to you?
To be honest, I possess the characteristic bluntness of a Gyeongsang Province man and am not accustomed to expressing warmth overtly. But instead, I will love you with a ‘heart of gratitude’. I believe sincere gratitude is an emotion deeper and more enduring than words. Have you ever heard of the ‘Five Love Languages’? Psychology identifies five primary ways to express love: ‘Appreciation’, ‘Quality Time’, ‘Acts of Service’, ‘Gifts’, and ‘Physical Touch’. Expressing gratitude and praise, spending time together, willingly helping when needed, giving small but meaningful gifts, conveying feelings through warm touch. These are not just effective communication methods within families or among friends; they are equally valid and applicable within an organization. I, too, wish to share my sincerity with you and build trust through these means. Moving forward, I will always be grateful for the trust and affection you show me, and I will use that sentiment as the driving force behind leading this organization.
Looking back on my experience at ○○, where I previously worked, when the economic climate was favorable and systems operated smoothly, the organization’s goals and principles tended to be realized naturally. However, in times like these, marked by economic downturn and rapid change, the passion, creativity, and emotional bonds of each individual member become far more crucial forces than the system itself. Therefore, I will spare no sincere effort to deepen and strengthen these emotional bonds within our organization. What I desire for this organization, ○○, is not merely improved performance. I want this organization to be filled with new values: mutual respect and trust, joy, and passion. My greatest goal is to create a workplace where everyone looks forward to coming to work each morning, a place where you can work happily. A warm organization where emotional energy flows and the human touch is felt—that is the vision I dream of for ○○.
Finally, I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone here celebrating with us today. I will never forget today’s commitment and my original aspirations. I will always remain humble and honest, moving forward together with you, all looking in the same direction. Thank you.

Inaugural Address – ○○ Asset Management CEO ○○○

On this hopeful first morning of the new year, I am truly delighted and honored to greet you all for the first time. As we welcome 2025, I sincerely wish all our employees and their families abundant health, happiness, and good fortune. Above all, I express my deepest gratitude and respect to all employees, including our former President, who have dedicated themselves to the growth of ○○. I especially wish our former President, who is leaving the company, boundless glory and success in the future. Furthermore, I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the government agencies, media outlets, and related organizations whose generous cooperation and support have enabled ○○’s growth and advancement. I ask for your continued interest and support.
Today, I stand here as the CEO of ○○ Asset Management, a company with ○○ years of history and tradition, bearing a heavy sense of responsibility. To say my shoulders aren’t heavy would be untrue. Yet, seeing the bright, trustworthy faces of our employees gathered here today, and the expressions filled with earnest resolve, I am certain that with you by my side, we can overcome any difficulty. The work we undertake holds meaning that transcends mere task execution. We must always remember that even a seemingly minor mistake can shake the trust in our organization and, in the long term, significantly impact our future.
○○ is a public enterprise with a public service mission, yet it also occupies a unique position where profitability must be considered. Therefore, we are all held to higher standards of morality and professionalism than private companies. Recent unfortunate incidents have subjected us to harsh scrutiny and criticism from outside, disappointing the many who trusted and supported ○○. Consequently, the organization’s reputation has suffered significant damage. Of course, as internal members, there may be many aspects that feel unfair. However, before blaming the outside world for not understanding our position, we must first ask ourselves: Did we truly do our utmost? Did we work with sincerity? Only through cold, hard reflection and deep introspection can genuine change truly begin.
We are now in a crisis. Yet, I firmly believe we can turn this crisis into an opportunity for a leap forward. Your resolve and attitude to constantly challenge with renewed determination, adapt flexibly, and innovate boldly will form the most solid foundation supporting our organization’s future. I firmly believe that the foremost necessity for ○○ to regain its past honor and transform into a more substantive and trusted public enterprise is ‘labor-management harmony’ and ‘unity among employees’. Based on this belief, I will place a management philosophy centered on harmony at the core and do my utmost to develop our corporation into an exemplary public institution.
To this end, I would like to present several management principles. First, we will establish a trusted organizational culture through transparent and fair management. Second, we will strengthen future competitiveness through dynamic organizational operations and talent development. Third, we will realize ethical management that fulfills our social responsibilities. Finally, we will strive to create a happy workplace where all employees can feel pride. These directions will play a pivotal role in fundamentally improving the organization’s constitution and restoring external trust. Above all, I believe all these changes are only possible with the active participation and cooperation of each and every one of you.
Respected employees, the new year has dawned. I sincerely wish once again that each of your personal aspirations comes true and that health and good fortune always accompany your families. Moving forward, I will advance step by step with vigor alongside you, unafraid of new challenges. Let us all join forces to build a bright and hopeful future for ○○. Thank you.
