In this blog post, I present a sample resume highlighting my expertise and experience under the theme “Why am I the essential talent for the R&D Packaging Development role?”
Growth Journey
“The Writing DNA Inherited from My Father”
As a child, I was a sensitive and thoughtful boy. Starting in middle school, I began writing my own novels and essays. I also created screenplays and collaborated with friends to publish anthologies. Though not professionally published, with the support of my school’s literature club, I compiled our individual works into a single book with fellow club members. Publishing several anthologies like this naturally shaped my own literary world, and my affection for writing deepened steadily. Creative writing became more than just a hobby for me; it was a precious experience that nurtured my sensitivity and creativity.
My father’s influence was significant in fostering my love for writing. Working as a magazine reporter, he also traversed various industrial sites as a freelance investigative journalist. When necessary, he would personally visit factories or industrial sites for research, interview relevant figures, and write articles. He always spoke to me about his work with a kind and warm demeanor, which naturally familiarized me with the genres and subjects he covered. The professional passion and diligence he demonstrated resonated deeply with me, giving me a concrete glimpse into the life of a writer.
The magazine company where my father worked was an industry-specific publication called ‘Monthly Packaging,’ and there he wrote about various packaging materials, containers, and related industries. Initially, I had little interest or knowledge about the packaging industry, but as I encountered my father’s articles, my understanding of this field gradually deepened, and I even began to find it interesting. I came to realize that almost no product exists in daily life without packaging, and it struck me anew that behind whatever we consume, the ‘packaging’ industry is always present. Naturally, I developed an interest in the packaging industry, and later, when considering my career path, I found myself wanting to do meaningful work in this field.
Thus, I grew up writing from a young age. Under my father’s influence, I learned the value of writing and the pride that comes with it as a profession. Recalling how my father communicated with the world through his writing and gained understanding of industries and people, I too aspire to become someone who can converse with the world using my own language.
Life Motto
“Always be someone who cares about those around you.”
My life motto stems from the resolve to ‘always care about those around me.’ Why should we care about others? Because when we receive love and attention, we gain positive energy and often achieve better results. This applies not only to people but also to plants and animals. For example, even a single small flower, when cared for with devotion and given attention, won’t wilt easily and will grow healthily.
I once had a hamster. I called its name every day, stroked it gently, and cared for it with all my heart. Amazingly, over time, it began to react as if it recognized my voice. When I called, it would scurry over and snuggle into my arms. Seeing it eat food I offered more eagerly than food from others was a truly astonishing and wondrous experience. Through this, I learned that ‘attention’ transcends mere emotional expression; it is a vital medium for forming connections and deepening bonds.
Even animals respond and connect through attention and affection—how much more so for humans. I, too, find comfort and strength through the care and love of my parents and friends. That’s why I always strive to approach relationships with others with affection. Even with close friends, I never take the relationship for granted. I pay attention to their small changes and express genuine interest. I naturally ask about their outfit today, a new hairstyle, or what’s been happening lately, and I make an effort to remember the stories they share.
I believe this attitude of paying close attention to others’ daily lives goes beyond simple kindness and plays a significant role in building genuine relationships. And this attitude is also the core of what I consider ‘communication skills’. Warm concern for someone strengthens human relationships and becomes a solid foundation for building mutual trust.
Moving forward, I aspire to remain someone who never withholds warm concern for those around me. Opening my heart to listen attentively to others’ stories, willingly sharing in even small joys—these are my guiding principles and the precious ways I nurture relationships.
Job Performance Capabilities
“An employee equipped with knowledge in packaging development”
I am ○○○, applying for the Packaging Development Division at CJ CheilJedang R&D. I can confidently state that I am a prepared talent who can quickly adapt to packaging development tasks and proactively deliver results. This confidence stems not from mere self-assurance, but from the experience and academic foundation I have built over time.
Majoring in Packaging Science, I acquired specialized knowledge on various packaging materials including glass, metal, plastic, paper, and new materials. I focused particularly on the food packaging sector, gaining hands-on experience through practical assignments and packaging material development. I have included a portfolio showcasing this work with my application materials. This portfolio goes beyond just the final products; it clearly demonstrates the thought process and development strategies I employed in designing products, effectively communicating my professional capabilities.
Among the various projects featured in my portfolio, the one I am most confident in presenting is a development case utilizing paper packaging materials. This project was my graduation thesis, where I designed a customized product for consumers who own dogs. Noting the inconvenience of carrying dog food when going out with pets, I developed an eco-friendly paper packaging material that is easy to carry and can be used as a disposable option. While plastic containers like Tupperware were commonly used for pet food storage, this packaging is made from biodegradable, eco-friendly materials and offers the advantage of easy post-use recycling. My experience directly planning and implementing this practical yet sustainable packaging solution will be a significant strength in proposing and realizing creative ideas for packaging development at your company.
Furthermore, I can confidently state that foreign language proficiency is another crucial element for performing this role. While my strength lies more in document-based tasks such as reading comprehension, translation, and writing English reports rather than spoken English, my skills are fully applicable in practical work. My focus on intensive English study began when I started deeply learning about packaging, advertising, and marketing fields. Trends and real-world case studies in these fields offered broader and deeper insights from overseas books and papers than domestic materials. This naturally increased my exposure to original English sources, enhancing my reading comprehension and vocabulary. Subscribing to specialized packaging magazines exposed me to diverse global cases, and making English article reading a daily habit further solidified my skills. Currently, I possess business English proficiency sufficient to write packaging-related reports in English and to proficiently exchange English emails during client communications.
Thus, as a well-rounded professional equipped with theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and foreign language skills, I am confident I can quickly integrate into CJ CheilJedang’s Packaging Development Division. Packaging development transcends mere technical expertise; it demands integrated thinking that encompasses consumer needs, environmental values, and market trends. I am adept at solving problems and proposing new value by considering these complex factors. I will continue to learn and grow, striving to become an employee who makes tangible contributions. Thank you.
Internal and External Activities
“Call Center Inbound Operations Experience”
Before applying to your company as a new graduate, I had no specific work experience, but I did lay the groundwork for social life through simple part-time jobs. Among these, the most memorable experience was inbound operations at a call center. I often heard compliments about my pleasant voice and was naturally inclined to listen attentively to others, responding calmly and offering advice. This led me to take an interest in call center work.
My primary role involved customer service, and my inherently kind and patient nature allowed me to adapt relatively quickly. I worked at a department store customer service center selling apparel, where customer inquiries were diverse. Particularly common were complaints about purchased clothing items, exchange or refund requests, and sometimes calls about product availability, delivery schedules, or complaints about store employees. Many callers were already emotionally charged when they called, so maintaining a calm demeanor and accurately gathering information were paramount.
My most important principle while performing this job was the mindset of ‘always respond calmly.’ If the person handling the inquiry panics or fails to provide a clear explanation, it’s difficult for both the customer and myself to feel satisfied with the service. Therefore, I prioritized listening attentively to the customer’s story and striving to create an atmosphere where they could comfortably explain their situation. Simultaneously, I aimed to faithfully resolve the customer’s needs by quickly searching for information and accurately conveying the necessary details. Even when dealing with emotionally charged customers, I made every effort to maintain a consistently calm demeanor without getting agitated, ensuring smooth problem resolution.
This experience held meaning beyond a simple part-time job. It was a valuable time where I cultivated diverse capabilities: the patience learned through customer communication, the quick thinking to resolve problems in real-time, and the importance of consistent self-management. I firmly believe that the experience gained through this inbound call center work will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation for my future social and professional life.
