How to Express a Customer-Centric Approach in a Securities Firm Self-Introduction Letter?

This blog post introduces how to effectively incorporate a customer-centric approach into your securities firm self-introduction letter, focusing on communication methods and service mindset to earn customer trust.

Background

I was born as the second child among one brother and two sisters to my diligent mother and father. Under our family motto, ‘Live with love,’ I grew up surrounded by warm family affection, sharing deep bonds with my siblings and developing without major setbacks.
My father ran a bicycle shop, so I naturally became familiar with bicycles from a young age. My childhood spent riding and playing on bikes allowed me to grow up healthy, developing exceptional athletic ability and stamina.
My mother was always a devoted person. Raising three children was never easy, but she never stopped working, always helping my father contribute to the family finances. Thanks to my mother’s warm love and tireless efforts, I was able to attend various academies—for abacus, public speaking, art, Chinese—and gain exposure to learning in many different fields. Experiencing diverse activities in my childhood laid a strong foundation for broadening my thinking and developing my expressive abilities.
Above all, my parents taught me responsibility and instilled in me the attitude of approaching any given task with sincerity. Thanks to my parents’ teachings, I developed the independence to stand on my own two feet and grew up with the desire to someday repay the love and sacrifice they gave me.
Thus, I grew up naturally learning what love, responsibility, consideration, and sincerity meant within my family. This background, which shaped who I am today, will remain an unwavering guide and the core principle guiding my life moving forward.

Strengths and Weaknesses

My strongest athletic ability is running. I excel particularly at endurance running rather than short sprints like the 100m dash. I consistently placed first in physical fitness tests as a child, and I am confident in my stamina and perseverance. My ability to persistently strive and consistently follow through is one of my key strengths. Thanks to this trait, endurance running remains my most confident athletic discipline to this day.
Another strength people often mention about me is my bright smile, relaxed demeanor, and optimistic nature. I’m a good listener and strive to view situations through a positive lens. Perhaps because of this personality, when someone confides their worries, I often offer not only practical solutions but also warm comfort. Of course, my opinions or suggestions might not always be the right answer, but many people express their gratitude, saying things like, “That gave me great courage,” or “It was comforting.” Every time I hear such words, I feel grateful that my optimistic nature can be a small but meaningful source of strength for someone.
However, strengths don’t always act solely as advantages. My weaknesses also stem from this passionate nature. Passion is undoubtedly a good trait, but sometimes it becomes excessive and burdensome to me. When I become engrossed in something, I charge ahead full speed without looking back—literally like a bulldozer. That’s why I occasionally hear comments like, “You’re more stubborn than you look, huh?” But I believe that side of me also stems from my own convictions and principles. If I believe a course of action is ‘right,’ I never hesitate to put it into practice.
Of course, I’m well aware my thoughts aren’t always correct. So when I face dilemmas, I don’t keep them bottled up alone. I first seek advice from those around me—superiors, seniors, friends, or colleagues. I listen sincerely to their perspectives, consider viewpoints I might have missed, and strive to find balance.
A person’s strengths and weaknesses can be separated by a paper-thin line. I believe that if I properly regulate and refine my strength, ‘passion,’ it will one day shine not as a weakness but as a true strength. Moving forward, I aim to grow in a better direction by leveraging my unique strengths and compensating for my weaknesses.

School Days

During my second semester of freshman year in college, I served as the department representative (department head). The most significant lesson I learned from this role was the responsibility that comes with being a representative—that my actions must set an example. I also realized that taking on any role within a group is never easy.
The Chinese Business Department at Jaeil University, where I studied, offered a program where students spent one semester at Qingdao Ocean University in China during their second semester of freshman year. Although I hadn’t been the department representative in Korea, I was selected for the role at Qingdao Ocean University. I believe I was chosen because I had attended every class diligently during my first semester and possessed slightly better Chinese language skills than my peers.
Upon arriving in China, I resolved to focus my efforts. “Since I’m in a foreign land, I must be helpful to my classmates. I must strive to communicate smoothly with the professors.” I made this resolution. Indeed, once the local Chinese language classes began, some classmates expressed difficulty, saying they couldn’t understand the content. To help them, I meticulously prepared and reviewed every day, translating the teacher’s words as accurately as possible into Korean. Through this process, my own Chinese skills improved significantly, and I naturally became a role model among my peers.
Of course, there were challenges. Many students wanted to experience the local culture at night, and being young myself, I understood that curiosity. However, safety was always a concern. We conducted room checks with our professor at set times every day, but some friends would go out again afterward. I understood the thrill of freedom in a foreign land, but I believed safety came first. So I urged my friends: “Before you go out, please tell me where you’re going. That way, I can be prepared for any unexpected situations.” My classmates gratefully accepted my request and always informed me of their destination and estimated return time.
That way, we were able to return safely to Korea without any major incidents, and our trust in each other deepened. Before I knew it, I had become a sort of ‘mother figure’ to all the students, and thanks to that, I formed precious relationships that continue to this day. That time spent together remains a very special and valuable experience that awakened a sense of responsibility in me.
Looking back, every moment of that time was a precious lesson for me. The challenges in an unfamiliar environment, collaborating with others, and growing together while considering others—all of it has become a shining page in my life.

Career Aspirations

I am ○○○, a prepared person with clear goals.
I start each day by logging onto the ○○ Securities website to check job postings, as I aim to join the company. Although I majored in Chinese, my interest and passion for the rapidly changing financial market and the specialized field of securities led me to join the Customer Delight Center at ○○ Securities after graduating from university.
Early on, I realized the work at the Customer Delight Center was not easy, as it involved achieving customer satisfaction through phone consultations. Handling over 120 calls per day on average, I often questioned my career path. However, the securities business was an intriguing and enjoyable field for me. The ability to experience the flow of the economy in real-time was a major attraction.
Therefore, I did not simply decide to change jobs to avoid difficulties. Instead, I seriously considered how I could grow in this field and made the decision to choose growth over aptitude. As a result, I diligently studied my work and acquired various certifications.
In 20○○, I obtained the Indirect Investment Fund Salesperson certification. Subsequently, I earned the Securities Investment Consultant, Derivatives Fund Investment Consultant, and Real Estate Fund Investment Consultant certifications. In 20○○, I also acquired the Derivatives Investment Consultant certification. These efforts significantly enhanced my understanding of the work and laid a strong foundation for receiving positive evaluations in my actual duties, based on diligence and expertise.
The primary duties at the Customer Delight Center are divided into branch operations and center operations. Branch operations include account document guidance, subscription, transfers, fund trading, CMA, bond, ELS, and ELW guidance. Center operations focus on HTS consultation, market price inquiries, and stock order guidance. Over three years and three months, I gained extensive experience across these diverse tasks, learning everything from the fundamentals of customer service to the practical application of financial products.
Now, building on my experience and service mindset from the Customer Experience Center, I aim to rebuild my dreams at ShinYoung Securities from the ground up, making them even stronger. I will be someone who learns through communication with customers, grows with market trends, and deepens my expertise through practical skills.
I will steadily advance today and tomorrow to become a trusted partner for customers and a talent who grows alongside the company.
