Growth Process

The house my family lives in today is a space saturated with my father and mother’s sweat and effort. They desired a home they could share for a lifetime, even if it took many years, and they worked steadily for decades to realize that dream. My father, who majored in architectural design, constantly envisioned our future home in his mind while drawing blueprints, while my mother meticulously planned how to decorate its interior. Their circumstances at the time were far from affluent, making the realization of this dream anything but easy. Yet, my parents moved forward step by step with unwavering conviction. Eventually, we came to live in a house that perfectly resembled the one I had seen in my father’s blueprints as a child and the interiors my mother had envisioned.
Watching this process unfold beside my parents, I deeply understood how crucial a sense of purpose is. They always worked diligently toward the goal of building our family’s own home, and whenever difficult moments arose, they found renewed strength by envisioning the completed house. When I first saw the finished house, I felt an overwhelming emotion that was hard to put into words. Knowing how many difficulties they had overcome along the way made that emotion feel even more profound.
Through this growth process, I developed the habit of setting clear goals and creating concrete plans to achieve them. This habit has been a great strength since I entered the workforce and has positively influenced all aspects of my life. Moving forward, I intend to carry this mindset forward, aiming to ultimately grow into a top expert in the construction industry.

School Days

During my school years, I loved art immensely and developed a strong interest in design. Art was an inseparable hobby in my daily life, to the extent that I always took charge of decorating my own room. Noticing this interest, my mother suggested I attend an art academy, an offer I gladly accepted. Learning something I loved fueled my passion for the classes, making my enthusiasm hotter than anyone else’s.
Meeting an architecture professor at a ‘Distinguished Speaker Lecture’ during high school was a pivotal turning point in my life. The professor explained the role of architecture in harmonizing with urban aesthetics and how to design elements like street trees in the city center to blend aesthetically. Hearing those words, it felt like a new light had turned on in my mind. It was a field connected to art yet completely unknown to me, so his words felt like a key opening a whole new world. After returning home from the lecture, I immediately began researching architecture. Even the name ‘Architecture Department’ was unfamiliar to me, so naturally, I knew nothing about its curriculum or career paths. Yet, the more I researched, the more I was drawn to the fact that architecture isn’t just about building structures, but a field that fuses artistic sensibility and creativity. Ultimately, having set the goal of becoming an architecture student, I created a concrete roadmap and worked tirelessly to achieve it, gaining admission to my desired university.
Throughout my four years of university, I maintained the pride and confidence I felt upon admission, immersing myself in my studies and diverse activities. In research projects with classmates, I experienced the power of collaboration, pooling ideas to achieve results. Through club activities, I learned the value of consideration and sharing. Particularly as the leader of a volunteer club, I actively participated in helping neighbors in need. Among these, I poured deep affection into volunteering that supported arts and physical education activities for children from low-income families. There, I met a child who loved drawing immensely. However, lacking the means to purchase art supplies, this child was gradually giving up on their dream. Witnessing this, I gifted them my well-used art supplies and tools. Though a small act of sharing, the realization that it could become the strength for someone to continue their dream deeply moved me.
Looking back, my interest in art transcended a simple hobby and became the starting point for a new path toward architecture. My diverse experiences during university further matured me and deeply engraved the value of a life dedicated to sharing. Moving forward, I intend to walk steadily without losing sight of my original aspirations, striving to become an architect who embodies both aesthetic sensibility and social responsibility.

Strengths and Weaknesses

From a young age, I was deeply influenced by my parents, who valued harmony with others. This nurtured in me a considerate heart and a strong desire to contribute to society. A world where ‘good people succeed’ is precisely the society I dream of. However, it saddens me that nowadays, ‘being good’ is often perceived as synonymous with ‘being foolish.’ I firmly believe changing this perception is essential.
In competitive societies like capitalism, selfish individuals often find success easier. Yet such environments make it difficult to build trust or expect mutual cooperation. Ultimately, I believe this leads to the marginalization of good people because it contradicts the healthy functioning of capitalism. I firmly believe that for a capitalism based on coexistence and mutual prosperity to take root, more people must embrace a good heart and strive to realize justice.
Whenever I encounter shoddy construction or various social problems, I have always resolved to become someone who prioritizes citizens’ safety above all else. To put this into practice, I may sometimes have to sacrifice part of my own interests. However, I believe trust can only be restored when a social atmosphere forms where people don’t resent this sacrifice but instead see it as natural.
Of course, seeing me always put others first, people around me sometimes say, “You should look out for yourself too.” While I understand the concern behind those words, I still wish to live as a member of a society where we care for each other and grow together. That is the value I aspire to, and it remains the principle I intend to uphold in my life.

Career History (or Experience Demonstrating Work Capabilities)

I approach every task with a sense of responsibility, thinking, “This is my job.” Whether the task is big or small, I’ve always given my best with the mindset that it’s work that benefits me, and through this process, I’ve earned recognition and built trust from those around me. During vacations, I would apply to construction companies and work as a site staff member. My main duties included transporting materials, assisting with approvals, and supporting and managing the work of those laboring on-site. It was grueling work under the scorching summer sun, and those around me worried, “Can someone born as the youngest and raised in privilege really handle such tough work?” However, I always moved one step ahead and demonstrated diligence surpassing others. As time passed, I gradually earned recognition and was eventually entrusted with more responsibilities.
I don’t believe anyone is perfect from the start. But I firmly believe that those who acknowledge their shortcomings and consistently strive to improve themselves are the truly valuable assets any organization needs. These experiences taught me that “effort always catches someone’s eye, and that effort ultimately brings greater opportunities.” Moving forward, I will maintain this attitude and mindset, giving my best to every task assigned and growing step by step.

Motto and Life Philosophy

Brian Adams once said:

“Learn the art of patience. When anxiety creeps in about whether you can achieve your goals, master your mind as you have trained it. Without patience, tension and fear arise, leading to discouragement and failure. Only through patience can confidence, decisiveness, and a rational perspective emerge, ultimately paving the way to success.”

I believe construction mirrors human life. Just as a person who grows without a solid foundation may stray onto the wrong path, a building without a sturdy foundation will ultimately become substandard. Furthermore, a building that fails to harmonize with its surroundings reveals disharmony in its very existence; similarly, a person who loses the awareness of coexisting with others will feel loneliness and isolation. In both life and construction, I believe that laying a solid foundation and achieving balance with one’s surroundings is paramount.
Therefore, I want to approach construction not merely as erecting structures, but with a heart that considers and cares for people. Each time I build a building, I aim to complete it with patience and dedication, considering harmony with its surroundings and adhering faithfully to the fundamentals, as if building a person’s life alongside it. This is my attitude towards life and my unchanging creed in construction.
