Personal Growth
“A Child with Responsibility and Proactivity”
I was raised from a young age with the teaching that responsibility is paramount. This was also something my mother, who was a police officer, always emphasized. Both my parents were police officers, and my father died in the line of duty. It happened when I was very young, so my memories of him are faint, but my mother always told me how wonderful and just he was. I grew up respecting my father deeply in my heart. Like the great figures I learned about in textbooks, he was a source of immense pride and a role model to me.
Raising me alone, my mother worked tirelessly to ensure I never felt the absence of my father. She guided me beyond simply being a guardian, always hoping I would become someone I could be proud of, both for myself and for others, when I grew up. Above all, she emphasized responsibility. “Whatever you start, see it through to the end. Always take responsibility for the tasks you undertake.” These words were hammered into my ears throughout my entire upbringing. It was more than just a frequently repeated phrase; it was my mother’s way of teaching that shaped my actual attitude and habits in life.
The word “responsibility” is easy for anyone to say, but few can truly bear its weight. My mother constantly cautioned me against becoming someone who shirks responsibility, especially emphasizing the duties and attitudes expected of a student. Thanks to her, I developed the habit of never giving up easily and seeing things through to the end. I believe I have grown into a responsible person myself.
Additionally, I have an outgoing personality and get along well with others, so I was active and energetic in school life. During class, I never hesitated to ask questions when something puzzled me, and I took the initiative to research and solve problems I wanted to understand. I always listened attentively to my teachers, participated diligently in assignments and class activities, and practiced responsibility. Because of these qualities, when tasks needed to be assigned or representatives chosen in class, my friends and teachers often recommended me.
I believe the greatest driving force behind who I am today is the sense of responsibility instilled in me by my mother’s teachings and her approach to life. And that responsibility isn’t just a weighty word; it’s an attitude toward life and the foundation of trust that sustains my relationships with others.
Strengths and Weaknesses of Personality
“A person with inclusiveness and adaptability”
I possess a personality that embraces others. Growing up, I naturally learned patience and inclusiveness from my mother, who single-handedly cared for me in place of my father, who was often absent. My mother always prioritized courtesy in relationships and emphasized the importance of greeting others first. Thanks to her, I grew up hearing compliments like “you’re so polite” from the neighborhood elders from a young age. Even now, I don’t hesitate to approach and greet people I meet for the first time, believing that small gesture is the start of breaking down walls between people.
Furthermore, I tend to feel anticipation rather than fear when facing new environments and adapt quickly even in unfamiliar places. My personality, which allows me to mingle easily with people and respond proactively to diverse situations, enables me to settle in quickly anywhere. When learning new tasks, I grasp concepts rapidly and strive to handle assignments meticulously and without error. I don’t stop at merely completing assigned work; I focus on enhancing its quality by considering how to achieve better results.
Thus, I possess a personality that communicates smoothly with others based on inclusiveness and adaptability, while approaching assigned tasks with a sense of responsibility and thoroughness. These two strengths serve as the driving force enabling me to grow further in diverse environments, and I believe they will continue to guide me in a better direction.
School Life
“Diverse Experiences, Diligent Activities”
Throughout my university years, I lived by the goal of “gaining diverse experiences.” By participating in various competitions alongside seniors and peers in my department, I deeply realized the importance of the process itself, beyond merely achieving results. Experiences where I exercised leadership, fostered teamwork, and made decisions through active discussions became invaluable assets to me.
After enrolling in the Economics Department, I joined and actively participated in the department’s marketing club. This club primarily focused on preparing for various competitions, proposing creative ideas reflecting the latest trends, and developing these into concrete, feasible business items through detailed business plans. This experience helped me cultivate a practical mindset and planning capabilities. The process of constantly conceiving new ideas and designing them into actual business models was a continuous cycle of challenge and learning.
During vacations, I gained diverse field experience through various part-time jobs. I worked in customer-facing service roles like wedding hall assistant, convenience store clerk, and cafe server, as well as production-line work at a semiconductor manufacturing company. This process taught me the importance of communication while interacting with diverse people, and I directly experienced how crucial teamwork among colleagues is within an organization. These were valuable times that allowed me to learn not just the work itself, but also the fundamental attitudes and sense of responsibility required for life in society.
Until my sophomore year of university, I lived a hectic life, so busy with school classes, part-time jobs, and travel that I never had a single day to rest at home. While I gained a lot of experience through these various activities, I regret not being able to focus sufficiently on my studies. Therefore, starting my third year, I resolved to focus more intensely on my studies and began paying close attention to maintaining my GPA. I am particularly concentrating on improving my English skills and computer proficiency, steadily preparing step by step for my future career path.
Thus, my university life has been a continuous journey of ‘growing through diverse experiences and striving to fill in the gaps where I fall short’. Moving forward, I aim to venture out into a wider world, building upon the experiences I have gained thus far.
Career Experience – Sales Management and Planning
After graduating from university, I joined a manufacturing company producing automotive parts and began working in sales management. This company supplies automotive parts to domestic automakers and Tier 1 suppliers while also exporting overseas. As part of the Sales Division, I was responsible for overall sales management and planning tasks.
My primary duties included generating sales-related data, preparing reports based on the results, and overseeing overall data maintenance and management. I also handled annual budget planning for the sales department, proposed budget reduction measures, managed monthly budget plans and performance, established annual sales plans, analyzed performance against plans, and conducted weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance analysis. Furthermore, I handled finance-related tasks such as monthly profit and loss analysis and managing the profit and loss status by client.
Additionally, I regularly analyzed automotive market trends, developed corresponding sales strategies, and proposed practical sales directions. Creating the company’s external promotional materials was also part of my role, and I devoted significant effort to communications aimed at enhancing the company’s image and brand value.
Although our sales team consisted of only three members, we collectively managed approximately 200 clients. While this was by no means an easy task, we achieved efficiency through organic teamwork and a clear division of responsibilities. We naturally complemented each other’s weaknesses and flexibly adjusted roles when needed, allowing us to confidently claim superior teamwork compared to any other team.
Through this experience, I developed the ability to formulate data-driven strategies, engage in flexible collaboration and communication, and execute actionable plans based on market analysis. I also gained firsthand insight into how sales extends beyond merely generating revenue, requiring close coordination with multiple departments within the organization. This process allowed me to simultaneously expand both the depth and breadth of my work.
