Growth Journey

As a child, I was deeply concerned about environmental resource waste and practiced rigorous conservation. I paid close attention to the most basic uses of electricity, water, and other energy sources, consciously avoiding purchases of products containing non-recyclable materials or pollutants that were difficult to purify. Though my actions were small, they represented my own effort to send a modest message to the world. Some might say, “It’s hard to change the world with just one person’s effort,” but rather than using that as an excuse, I believed that even if my actions were small and slow, if they accumulated and could spark change like a butterfly effect, that in itself was meaningful enough. So, I was able to persevere steadily, maintaining composure without rushing.
Among these, the area I focused on most was ‘water resources’. In some regions, water overflows while simultaneously causing headaches due to pollution, yet in other places, people struggle to obtain even a single sip of water, threatening their very survival. This reality—that even while living on the same planet, life is not equally granted to everyone—felt profoundly ironic and tragic, even to my young mind. This realization became a catalyst for me to move beyond personal action and strive for broader impact. It sparked my hope to one day work at a water resource agency or environmental organization, where I could make a greater difference.
Of course, my strength is still small, and my influence may be limited. But I realized that my life ahead is far too long to easily give up or become discouraged. Rather, I believe that by preparing steadily from now on and gradually expanding my small actions, I can eventually contribute to the flow of change. Based on that belief, I intend to persevere. I am confident that a small but sincere beginning will ultimately lead to real change.

School Days

During my school days, I often saw friends and peers show temporary interest in environmental issues only to quickly forget about them. Mostly, they’d focus briefly during science class or related events, then return to their daily routines. Topics like environmental pollution or global warming, where immediate, visible changes aren’t apparent, made children lose interest easily. However, I believed this indifference could ultimately have a significant impact on our future. So, I persistently shared my thoughts with friends around me, gradually spreading my perspective.
I hoped children could think about the environment and take action in their everyday lives. So I gathered the small bits of knowledge and information I had, however limited, striving to raise awareness about the severity of environmental issues and share concrete ways to act within them. I held the belief that even a seemingly insignificant attempt—like thinking “What difference could one small thing make?”—could create a crucial turning point for the world and become the decisive moment preventing a crisis that might one day face our descendants. At first, friends who heard my story laughed and dismissed it as “nonsense.” Yet, gradually swayed by my earnest attitude and enthusiasm, they began practicing small rules to conserve water and reduce pollution in their daily lives.
Some cast skeptical glances, arguing that such efforts would be insignificant compared to the world’s vastness and that nothing would actually change. But I wasn’t swayed by such words. Instead, grounded in the conviction that “even small efforts, if sustained, will inevitably lead to meaningful change,” I refused to give up. I persisted in persuading those around me and holding fast to my resolve. If I had let others’ cynicism sway me back then, hastily defining my potential and limits, I probably wouldn’t be who I am today. Even if it felt like hitting a rock with an egg, I approached it with the mindset that leaving even a trace of egg white was worthwhile. Through this process, I was also able to gradually change my own daily life.
This belief—that small actions accumulate to change the world—remains deeply rooted in my life today. I learned during that time that creating change doesn’t come from grand gestures, but from small, consistent attitudes.

Personality Introduction

I am someone who lives believing that small efforts and modest ideas, when gathered together, can ultimately create great miracles. We often tend to think that history is moved and recorded solely by immense power, the energy of the masses, or overwhelming force. Yet, the tremendous power generated by the public is, in the end, the sum total achieved when countless minute units come together and unite. Change was possible precisely because people with unwavering perseverance and firm conviction came together, casting aside the notion that “one person alone doesn’t matter.” Change isn’t born solely from intense, dynamic currents. Often, quiet, unseen efforts and unseen forces steadily accumulate, eventually contributing to shifting the world’s trajectory.
Some have suggested that my inclination toward such ideals stems from holding excessively idealistic hopes. However, I believe that maintaining faith allows one to see the world more clearly and brightly, serving as the driving force to advance unwaveringly toward one’s goals. I believe that a life lived with positive hope, grounded in conviction about the path I choose, and moving forward step by step with the courage that hope provides, is truly productive and meaningful.

Values

How much attention do we pay to the small moments of daily life, our familiar surroundings and resources? How much gratitude do we carry in our hearts? Sometimes, we become complacent in relationships that are too close, and because we feel comfortable, we can actually become more rude. We may hurt those who are always by our side like family, or live without fully recognizing the preciousness of nature and the environment we take for granted. Presences that have been with us for so long that they feel natural often become mere background elements in our lives, their value carelessly forgotten.
But if the fundamental elements essential to our survival were to disappear, human life would inevitably face crisis. That is why, even at this very moment, we must reflect on whether the precious things that form the foundation of our lives are being well maintained, or if they are under threat. Within this context, we must actively consider what we can do and what role we can shoulder, then take proactive action. As the saying goes, ‘locking the barn door after the horse has bolted’ – regretting everything only after it’s lost ultimately brings no change.
Value doesn’t stem solely from grand things. Rather, greater and more fundamental meaning is often found within what we’ve taken for granted. Isn’t the attitude of rediscovering the preciousness hidden by familiarity in daily life, and living with gratitude for the small things, the true meaning of a mature life? Looking back with a warmer gaze at the foundation we live on now, our relationships, our environment, and our resources—that can be the starting point for a better life.

Motivation for Application and Aspirations After Joining

Having maintained a consistent interest in environmental pollution, particularly water resource issues, I once dedicated myself intensely to personal practice and activism. The phrase I heard most often during that time was, “What difference will your individual efforts make?” Of course, I could see the point in the argument that no matter how hard I tried alone, the situation wouldn’t change if billions of people on Earth continued their same habits. However, I remained unshaken by such skepticism. Instead, I grew even more firmly convinced that each of my actions could be the starting point for changing the world. I have consistently strived to move beyond being a bystander and take a proactive role in solving problems.
This tenacity to persistently immerse myself in and practice a single goal aligns with your company’s ideal of talent—someone who advances resolutely through any obstacle. This is why I am applying for this position. If given the opportunity to work at your company, I will approach my duties with sincerity and responsibility, just as I have always done: without arrogance, finding meaning in even the smallest actions. I believe that even efforts that seem insignificant at first can accumulate, catch someone’s attention, and ultimately lead to a chain of positive change. Based on this belief, I intend to quietly do my best in my role, growing alongside your company’s development.
