Document Processing Experience: How to Quantify It in an Administrative Resume?

This blog post introduces how to effectively incorporate actual document drafting, organization, and data management experience into an administrative resume.

My Growth Journey

“Extensive Reading and Exceptional Stamina”
From a young age, two things I could boast about were my extensive reading and exceptional stamina. Growing up as an only child between a middle school physical education teacher father and a baker mother, I spent a lot of time alone since both parents worked full-time. Naturally, I gravitated toward books, and reading soon became a joyful time for imagining my own worlds. Though I wasn’t particularly skilled at drawing, I felt confident expressing the scenes that came to mind while reading through writing. Seeing my parents’ surprised reactions whenever I showed them my writings helped build my confidence in writing.
Growing up as an imaginative and creative child, my writing skills were recognized at school, and I became a regular prize winner at every school writing contest. Particularly, winning the Excellence Award in the writing category of the ‘Future Society Creative Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology remains a great source of pride from my childhood.
My physical stamina was also exceptional from a young age. Influenced by my father, who had been a soccer player in his youth, I too loved sports. When playing soccer or basketball, my friends would always fight to be on my team. I never missed a relay race at elementary school sports days or middle school athletic meets. Sometimes I led my class to victory, and even when falling behind, I would catch up to the front runners with my speed, drawing attention.
From a young age, I joined my father’s soccer club activities with his old friends. At first, it was just kicking the ball around with kids my age, but as time passed and I grew stronger, I became a full member of my father’s team, participating in matches. Even through middle school, my playing time rarely exceeded ten minutes, but by high school, as my skills and stamina improved, my father actively welcomed me as a team member. Not only did I get to hang out with peers, but playing alongside adults also gave me the valuable experience of naturally interacting with people of various ages—something I still cherish today.
Thus, the imagination and writing skills cultivated through books, along with the physical stamina and social skills honed through sports, became the two pillars of my growth. They laid the crucial foundation that shaped who I am today.

School Life

“Creative Pursuits Beyond Academics”
During high school, I was active in a book discussion club. I enjoyed the pleasure of reading and the time spent sharing thoughts about books and authors with other friends. Reading was more than just a hobby for me; it was a part of life, and writing was also an activity I found deeply interesting. Combined with my love for sports, I was able to harmoniously enjoy these seemingly contrasting activities. Yet, my dream for my career path remained unwavering: to become a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). I was drawn to the role of overseeing a company’s operations and making critical decisions, which naturally led me to pursue a degree in Business Administration.
In college, I joined an academic club within my department, reading various economics books and focusing on understanding the rapidly changing global economic trends. While maintaining a serious attitude toward books and academics, I also treasured the time spent refreshing my mood with sports like soccer and basketball whenever possible. Thanks to this active personality, I had good relationships with friends and naturally gained trust within the department, leading to the opportunity to be elected as the department student council president in my third year.
The primary concerns for university students these days are undoubtedly ‘dating’ and ‘employment’. The department student council had to prepare various events annually, and aside from festivals or athletic meets, most programs needed to be linked to employment to attract student interest and participation. Especially in the fall, when job fairs hosted by various companies were concentrated, career and employment-related elements were naturally incorporated into planning department events.
I aimed to expand the department’s academic festival beyond a simple platform for presentations and discussions, transforming it into a genuinely helpful opportunity. I invited alumni working at large corporations to create a space for direct dialogue with juniors. This event garnered significant interest and positive response, attracting not only department members but also students from other departments. Consequently, this academic festival, organized by the department student council, was evaluated as a successful event in terms of both practicality and participation rate.
In this way, I have consistently gone beyond merely fulfilling assigned roles. I have thought deeply about how to engage more people and always proposed new approaches with a creative perspective. The ability to plan and execute tasks in a fresh and distinctive way has been one of my greatest strengths across my academic studies, club activities, and student council work. Moving forward, I aim to build upon these experiences and attitudes to become a leader who proactively forges new paths and grows alongside others.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Personality

“An Energetic and Easygoing Guy”
My greatest strength is my energetic and easygoing personality. I quickly laugh off minor disagreements and have rarely experienced major conflicts with friends. Complementing my outgoing nature is my love for outdoor sports. Even if awkward situations arise with friends, playing a game of basketball together and getting physical naturally eases any tension. Consequently, I rarely hold onto feelings for long.
Furthermore, once I decide on something, I always follow through. I focus intensely when studying and enjoy myself without worry when playing. I’ve lived by this attitude of ‘working hard when I work and playing hard when I play.’ I’m good at distinguishing when to joke around and when to be serious, so friends often came to me for advice on their worries.

Social Experience

“Nothing comes for free; when you need something, get a part-time job!”
Whenever I needed something or wanted to buy something, I would first tell my parents. If they gave permission, I would work part-time at the bakery my mother ran. Being able to work whenever I wanted was clearly a privilege my mother granted her son, but once I started working, that privilege was strictly limited to the opportunity itself. From the moment I started working, I had to adhere to the same work hours and thoroughly complete my assigned tasks just like any other part-timer. Especially when preparing for a three-month language study program in Canada, I had to have quite lengthy discussions with my mother to find a realistic compromise. We agreed that my parents would cover the basic tuition, but I would cover my own living expenses locally. From then on, until I left for the program, I worked part-time at the bakery almost every day, lending a hand. Of course, that effort alone wasn’t enough, but the experience and sense of responsibility I gained through that process became a great asset to me. Even now, whenever I have free time, I gladly help out at my mother’s bakery. At the time, saving for language training was the stated reason, but looking back, I think I visit as often as possible because I genuinely enjoy the time spent working alongside my mother. It’s not just about earning money; the time spent working together and communicating has become a cherished memory and an important part of my life.

Motivation and Aspirations

“I will become the undisputed ace of the Management Support Team!”
My ultimate life goal is to become a ‘Chief Executive Officer’. As the first step toward this goal, I majored in Business Administration in college, diligently preparing the fundamental qualities required to be a member of a company. Specifically, to develop a global perspective and communication skills, I participated in an overseas training program in Canada, building the ability to communicate freely in English through that experience. Furthermore, I enhanced my computer skills by obtaining the MOS Master certification. Alongside my Business Management Certification, I also achieved a TOEIC score of 890, systematically acquiring the competencies necessary for practical work. Of course, these qualifications are merely quantitative and objective indicators, but I firmly believe that all aspects of my professional life are stepping stones toward my ultimate goal of becoming a CEO.
I once read an interview with Shani’s Chairman Heo Young-in in a media outlet, where he stated, “I will make healthy and delicious bread.” What particularly struck me in that article were the keywords “field management” and “quality management.” I believe this philosophy is the core driving force behind Shani’s growth into the beloved brand it is today. Furthermore, I was deeply inspired by Chairman Heo’s words: “A CEO cannot rely solely on a management mindset. They must possess a technical mindset, an engineer’s sensibility.” I, too, aspire to be an employee who understands the field and finds solutions there.
I believe that understanding the production floor directly translates to proactive work in the office. If I join Shani, I will do my utmost to establish my presence within the company within the first one to two years. I will become someone indispensable within the organization—both in terms of relationships with colleagues and tangible work performance—and a colleague others want to work with. Ultimately, I will grow into an indispensable ‘reliable ace’ within the Management Support Team. I will cherish every step of this journey, walking my path steadily and firmly.
