How to convey loyalty to a car brand in a trade sales resume?

This blog post introduces how to effectively weave sincerity and persuasiveness suitable for a trade sales role into your resume, based on your affection and long-standing interest in a specific car brand.

Background

As a child, my father’s car was more than just a means of transportation to me; it was something so cool and aspirational that it made my heart race. My father, who traveled the country busily for work, always poured meticulous care into maintaining and repairing the vehicle. Even on his days off, seeing him wash the car or perform inspections made me feel like the family sedan parked in the garage was treated like another member of the family. Watching that scene, the affection I felt mirrored the love I felt when caring for my cherished puppy, making it feel even more familiar. Whenever he washed the car or went for a short drive, I would always hurry to tag along. Spending time with my father every weekend felt like the most natural thing in the world. Of course, the only help I could offer was handing him small tools or fetching water, but even that made me happy and proud, knowing I was contributing to his work with my own hands.
Due to the nature of his work, he drove a lot, so the car changed periodically, but the brand remained consistently yours. That’s because the first car he bought with his earnings as a working adult was one of your models. It was a choice imbued with the resolve to never lose sight of his original aspirations. This unwavering determination of his was deeply engraved in my heart too. That’s why I dreamt that when I eventually entered society and drove my own car, I would definitely choose one from your company. As I too grew into a capable member of society, I wanted to write my own story alongside your company’s cars. So whenever I imagined my future self, your company’s car was always by my side, and that scene naturally became a page in my life story.

School Days

During my school years, I naturally built up extensive knowledge about cars by helping my father. Thanks to this, among my friends, I was known as ‘the friend who knows about cars,’ receiving special attention and respect. Whenever my father did simple repairs or washed the car, I would always rush over to watch and assist. Those years spent accumulating knowledge were never wasted. They nurtured my unique interest and deepened my understanding of automobiles as a whole. Before I knew it, I could recognize most car brands and models just by name, and I gained the insight to spot new car releases, identify tuning points, and even diagnose simple problems. It was undoubtedly a precious achievement accomplished at a young age. However, compared to the deep knowledge possessed by my father or the mechanics at his regular repair shop, my own skills were still far from sufficient. So, rather than boast about my achievements carelessly, I always tried to maintain a humble attitude, eager to keep learning.
During that time, I gradually began to connect cars to my life’s path. I started dreaming of one day joining a related company and presenting a car I had designed myself to the world. The admiration I felt watching my father’s car up close since childhood had grown, and I found myself captivated by the diverse models and driving styles I saw on the streets. Especially, if I could see a car I contributed to designing or building driving on the streets every day, the thrill and pride of that moment would be hard to put into words. Furthermore, I imagined that joy would double if my father himself drove a car bearing my touch.
Looking back, the starting point for my deep passion for cars was always my father and his cars. So, I became convinced that if I ever had the chance to proudly show the fruits of my labor—the passion I poured into as a working adult—to that original source of inspiration—my father—there would be no moment more thrilling or valuable. And that dream still resides quietly yet firmly within my heart.

Personality Introduction

When I develop an interest or passion for something, I dive in headfirst, driven to achieve a certain level of accomplishment before I can feel satisfied. As a child, my father’s car sparked my curiosity to learn about automotive knowledge and skills. However, I couldn’t endlessly bother my father or the mechanics at the repair shop, so I dedicated myself to self-study using libraries and the internet. At the time, my mother, perhaps thinking I was focused on schoolwork, would often give me a concerned look. It made me a bit flustered each time, but looking back at my school grades, the difference between subjects I liked and those I didn’t was stark. My preferences were that clear-cut, and my energy would quickly fade in uninteresting areas. However, when my interests aligned with my career path, I possessed the potential to unleash tremendous synergy and explosive power.
This tendency also aligns with my parents’ teachings. Just as they said, “You can’t just pick your favorite side dishes unless you’re a child,” I came to believe that even in fields I disliked, I needed to understand them beyond the basics. Thanks to that lesson, I gradually cultivated patience and responsibility in facing the world, which ultimately became a solid foundation for pursuing my desired path. This is because I realized that no matter how deeply I delve into my desired field, all disciplines and knowledge are intricately interconnected. This experience, which made me step back from solely focusing on my areas of interest and broadened my perspective, continues to profoundly influence my character and life direction to this day.

Values

I strive to live a life where my childhood dreams are not merely left as empty hopes. We often say that becoming an adult requires letting go of many things. In that process, we deliberately set aside the pure faith, hopes, visions, interests, and curiosity of childhood, often mistakenly believing we have ‘grown up’ only after becoming dull and uninspired adults. However, I believe that to move forward steadily with sustained passion and energy, we absolutely need that high-purity inner drive, akin to the innocence of that very time. Therefore, I respect the dreams I held as a child. Even if belatedly, I don’t want to abandon them. Instead, I want to steadily practice the methods and efforts needed to achieve them together.
Of course, there will be moments when I feel embarrassed or blame myself. But as long as I don’t let those emotions consume me, dreams and hope can be a powerful driving force that elevates my goals and sense of accomplishment as a member of society. I believe that the pure dreams of childhood are not burdensome baggage that must be discarded to become an adult, but rather essential assets necessary for building a stronger, more meaningful life.

Motivation for Applying and Aspirations After Joining

As a child, watching my father closely as he frequently changed vehicles due to the nature of his work and meticulously maintained them, I naturally developed a deep fascination with personal cars. His attitude, cherishing the car by personally performing minor maintenance or washing it even on weekends, was not merely a preference but a philosophy permeating his entire lifestyle. Particularly, my father’s unwavering belief in choosing only your company’s vehicles since starting his first job resonated deeply with me, and under its influence, I too became strongly captivated by your company’s automobiles. Consequently, a desire to directly engage in work related to your company took root within me. I grew increasingly eager to participate as a member in developing and managing the vehicles that have long served as my father’s travel partner.
Should I gain the opportunity to work with your company, I pledge to approach my duties not merely as tasks to be completed, but with the resolve to carry forward and advance the ‘history’ your company has built thus far. Automobile manufacturing is a field where only through the meticulous and organic collaboration of countless individuals can a complete masterpiece be born. I deeply recognize this fact and believe that fulfilling my role as ‘one of the team’ is more important than individual achievements. Based on this sense of responsibility and passion, I will become a talent who can uphold and further enhance your company’s values and reputation.
