This blog post introduces the key competencies that should be emphasized in an IT administrative position resume, focusing on those that are practical and beneficial for the job.
Growth Process
I grew up greatly influenced by my parents, naturally developing a special aptitude for languages. My parents, who ran an academy, always took a deep interest in changes in education policy. They meticulously analyzed these trends and invested significant time predicting future educational environments. Since the private education market always reacted sensitively to shifts in education policy, my parents always valued the attitude of reading the trends of the times and preparing accordingly.
Both being English majors, they poured their passion into teaching the language. They particularly researched various teaching methods to help Korean students learn English more easily and effectively, and I was their test subject. Thanks to this, my English skills were stronger than those of my peers. Despite never having lived abroad or studied directly with native English teachers, I became comfortable enough with English to converse naturally with foreign friends.
During middle school, I corresponded with overseas pen pals to learn about each other’s cultures and traveled abroad during vacations, striving to validate my linguistic achievements in diverse ways. These experiences instilled great confidence in me and naturally sparked an interest in other foreign languages. I developed a particular interest in Chinese and Japanese, beginning self-study in these languages, which I continue to pursue diligently to this day.
My sustained interest and passion for languages led me to enroll in a foreign language high school. There, I majored in Russian, captivated by its unfamiliar yet fascinating writing system and unique linguistic structure, which motivated me to engage in deep study. Through the process of encountering and learning various languages, I gained a vague understanding of the commonalities between them, which greatly aided in improving my language abilities.
Above all, I believe this language learning experience played a crucial role in broadening my thinking and logical reasoning beyond simply learning words or writing. This is because it allowed me to cultivate not only the ability to absorb acquired knowledge but also to connect it and develop new perspectives. My growth journey, built upon this interest in language, has become a crucial foundation shaping who I am today, and I plan to continue this journey of expanding the boundaries of language and thought.
School Life
I grew up watching my parents, who were always close to books, even from my childhood. This naturally sparked my interest in books, and even before entering elementary school, I developed the habit of seeking out various studies on my own. I was particularly interested in foreign languages, often bringing up foreign language topics even when chatting with peers. My friends were often curious about me, envying or following my lead.
After entering middle school, the study habits I’d cultivated since childhood allowed me to take on even more self-directed learning. Opportunities to travel abroad also helped me develop independence and confidence. These experiences became a major turning point for me, leading me to enroll in a foreign language high school where I majored in Russian.
Learning Russian naturally sparked my interest in Russian culture, and to understand it more deeply, I began reading their literary works. Initially, the language felt unfamiliar, and grasping the context of the works was challenging. Yet, I never gave up midway; I persistently pushed forward to finish reading them. As I continued reading, my Russian skills gradually improved. At some point, I started seeking out and reading the original texts directly, rather than relying on translations.
Interestingly, I sometimes found the original texts easier to understand than the translations. I suspect this might be because the translation process sometimes resulted in overly complex sentence structures. That experience led me to take on the challenge of translating myself, striving to gain a deeper understanding of Russian culture. Translating literary works proved invaluable, going beyond mere language learning to help me internalize cultural thought and expression.
If high school was a time of immersion in language, university life saw me drawn to the allure of sports. I was particularly captivated by the thrilling tension of extreme sports, continuing to challenge myself despite my parents’ warnings about the risks. Through this, I felt my personality shift slightly toward being more extroverted. The experience of moving my body and testing my limits drew out hidden energy and courage within me, and I gained confidence in communicating with new people.
I joined a sports club at university, where I also took on the role of treasurer. Handling practical tasks like document organization and budget management, I discovered a newfound ability for administrative work. I found enjoyment in processing and systematically organizing various documents, and the fact that I could actually utilize my skills brought me a great sense of accomplishment.
Looking back, I have discovered myself through diverse experiences. From my childhood love of books, to my passion for foreign languages, my exploration of cultures, and my self-development through sports, my life has always been connected by the keywords ‘interest and challenge’. Moving forward, I intend to live without losing my curiosity towards unfamiliar worlds and my attitude of striving to improve myself. I believe these accumulated daily experiences will help me grow into a stronger and more flexible person.

Regarding Strengths and Weaknesses
While I have introverted tendencies, I am not the type to sit quietly reading books. Rather, I enjoy thrills and adventure enough to pursue extreme sports. Combining an extroverted nature with meticulousness, I am often recognized for my competence in any setting.
Growing up with both parents in the education field, I naturally learned the importance of a disciplined life and upholding fundamental principles. Influenced by this, I have always acted with a strong emphasis on societal norms and order, often receiving praise from others for being exemplary.
While there’s a common prejudice that people who strictly adhere to norms are rigid, I take pride in having an open and flexible mindset. I’ve made a conscious effort to learn various languages and understand different cultures and ways of thinking. These experiences have given me a broader perspective and a bias-free attitude.
However, my personality also has its shortcomings. Being quite sensitive, I sometimes react emotionally in situations that require a cool head. While I don’t let my emotions derail my work, if I appear indecisive when I need to make a clear-headed judgment or firm decision, I recognize this could be a definite weakness.
To overcome this, I am striving above all to be honest with my own feelings. Rather than suppressing my emotions, I train myself to recognize and accept them as they are. Through this practice, I aim to cultivate the ability to control and regulate my emotions effectively. I believe that being honest with my feelings is the first step toward truly mastering them.
Ultimately, my personality encompasses diverse facets. It is a process of finding balance between introversion and extroversion, principles and flexibility, sensitivity and cool-headedness. While imperfect, I am confident that this attitude of deeply understanding and reflecting on myself will make me a better person.
Career Experience
During my school years, I assisted with consulting work at an admissions research institute run by my parents. Although I primarily worked during vacation periods, I actively participated in providing customized consulting to students based on thorough data analysis, going beyond simple support. This institute was well-known for meticulously analyzing each student’s situation to propose strategies, and I was deeply involved in that process.
Through this experience, I came to understand that ‘college admissions’ is not about mere luck or intuition, but rather about creating predictable outcomes through objective and precise analysis. By analyzing several years of successful applicant data, staying abreast of evolving education policies and admissions systems, and establishing college admission strategies optimized for each student’s aptitude and circumstances, I was able to build trust not only with the students but also with their parents. This process naturally honed my counseling and interpersonal skills.
This experience held significance beyond a simple ‘part-time job’. Through this work, I developed not only data analysis skills but also communication abilities for handling diverse client types and document processing skills for organizing and recording large volumes of information. Above all, I believe the approach of analyzing problems from multiple angles and proposing appropriate solutions is a crucial competency applicable in any work environment.
I am confident that these experiences will be a significant asset within your company’s environment, where diverse tasks are performed on a global stage. My data-driven systematic approach, flexible communication skills, and meticulous document processing capabilities will undoubtedly be valuable assets in future work.
Motivation for Application and Aspirations
Eleanor Roosevelt once said:
“Every experience that stops us in our tracks and makes us tremble with fear gives us strength, courage, and confidence. Once we have conquered fear, we can tell ourselves that we can handle the next challenge. So do the thing you think you can’t do.”
When I first encountered these words, they resonated deeply within me. My decision to pursue a career in the IT industry stems directly from this very sentiment. Some might find it surprising that I applied to the IT field. They might wonder what role someone with strong language skills and an extroverted personality could play in a technology-focused industry.
But if you shift your perspective just a little, you’ll understand that my choice is not at all out of place. The position I’m applying for is ultimately an office role, and the IT industry is rapidly expanding its reach globally at this very moment. Amidst this wave of change, my linguistic abilities and communication skills can be a distinct competitive advantage.
My outgoing nature actually facilitates smoother relationships with others and can play a positive role within an organizational culture where collaboration and communication are paramount. Like Eleanor Roosevelt said, I view the preconception of “I can’t” not as fear but as an opportunity for challenge, and I am confident in my ability to proactively tackle any task given to me.
I possess a particularly strong aptitude for languages, with English being my primary strength. I am confident that my linguistic proficiency and international awareness will provide tangible value to your company as it pursues global markets. I am eager to leverage these abilities to actively contribute to your organization’s operations.
Moreover, the opportunity to work in a field I am passionate about is a great fortune and privilege. With my meticulous nature and relentless drive to challenge myself, I aim to enhance work efficiency and inject positive energy into the organization. Rather than shrinking from change, I will proactively respond and lead by example.
If given the opportunity to work at your company, I will spare no effort in applying my capabilities to become a talent who provides tangible strength for the organization’s growth and advancement. I promise to give my utmost not merely as an applicant, but as a partner in building the future together.
